How many artists are here?

I was just wondering how many among us are artists. What media do you use? Style(s) you favor? Do you have a website displaying your work?

I used to paint and have just started painting again in oil, watercolors, and pastels. Love to draw, too.

I'm a sculptor. Mostly steel, found objects (found at scrapyard that is). I don't have a website, but I've got some pictures online.

I love to draw too, but I just can't get into painting for some reason.

graphic artist(computer) I have done some pieces for school and i think that they are very good. I am also a avid photographer, i had some of my work up at the LA county fair this past spring.

I don't but Cyndi does a lot of painting and other creative stuff. Take a look at whats hanging on the walls next time you're here. If they'll display, here's some of her stuff:

I used to do a lot of drawing and painting of horses and sports figures ... haven't been very inspired lately. Some stuff I've done in the past is at www.geocities.com/cat8741. The drawing of my 300D in my sig is also mine. Examples:

I'm a glass artist but I also utilize wood and metal depending on what I'm making. I do original design stained glass windows, panels, lamps, cabinets, etc. I get jobs by referral now, but I'm working on a website to be released later this year. I attached pics of some recent work.

I'm currently working on a larger copper foil piece (32"w x 44"h) of the Philadelphia skyline. I'm trying to incorporate painted (kiln fired) and fused elements with some plating techniques. We'll see how it goes. I'm also starting to experiment with fused tiles and vessels, like sink bowls.

I like checking out everyone's work ... keep it coming!

Wow Chad- I really like the glass work- I delivered a Kayak to North Wales once while working for Eastern Mountain Sports. Nice country.

I have always enjoyed drawing and painting- and sometimes do some oil or mixed media work, but have been showing my photography for a while. Mostly a hobby, but I try to show several times/year.

djugurba, I just checked your website. You have some wonderful pieces there. Is the image "steps" from Valley Forge? ... one of my favorite spots in that park.:)

Thanks! You're not too far off - it's down Rt 30 at Chickie's Rock (where I used to climb) in between York and Lancaster on the banks of the Susq.

Bo

You're very good. Looks like you've had some serious art training. Have you considered quitting your day job?

Thanks for sharing.

Man, I'm glad I asked the question. You guys are good. Thanks for putting your stuff up here. Once I have a few things finished, I'll put some of mine up.

I like photography, but have not reached to point of familiarity with digital cameras to be able to concentrate on the photograph more than on the operation of the camera yet. I'm fine with a 4x5 camera and film (no confusing menus to deal with).

Excellent work folks!

I create spaces using wood, brick concrete and steel. My sculpters also have to support loads, maintain temperatures, discharge wastes and keep out cold and rain.

I love pure art but my first love is functional design, buildings and cars mainly, although a well done industrial or graphic design will definately turn my head.

I'm more of a performance "artist". My preferred media is methane gas and fine linens. Or inexpensive fabric. Or the couch. Besides the methane, I'm very diverse.

Outstanding work guys and gal! I'm very envious. My sister inherited the artistic talent from my mother. She's done paintings in all different media and pottery, with Indian seed pots being a favorite, some sculpture, some screenprinting. She sold a painting to Julia Roberts when she was still in Taos (making me 3 degrees separated from Kevin Bacon ;)). She has made some good money selling her work, but doesn't have that evil capitalist mentality of her brother :) and does it more because she enjoys it. I'm willing to be she could do rather well if she just concentrated on that. She had a very successful gallery show when she was in Taos. Ostensibly she's in Chicago now to attend the Art Institute, although I think it's more for the partying and kickball.

I majored in Landscape Architecture and had just enough drawing ability to get by, although I think a general lack of ambition is what kept me from developing my talents.

Nice work everybody....thanks for sharing your stuff on here, I'm thoroughly impressed. I'm a structural engineer - and they typicall clash with artists (architects, like Tom, haha....they want this huge open space and we want big columns everywhere:D).

But that's cool djurgurba - I drive past Chickie's Rock everyday (I live in Lancaster and work in York)...and I'm on 441 all the time. Did you used to live around here?

Whenever I get brave enough....I'll put some pics of the concrete coffee table I'm working on - I may need Chad's artistic help though:D.
