Anybody remember this? It is from 1968

What were you doing then?

I had been trying to remember the name since 1968, the last time I heard it, when it was popular, and I bought the single

It's so beautiful

"Soul Coaxing" (ame caline)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILFsdDcgwdQ

If you remember that, you surely would have remembered this, also in '68

"Love is Blue"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_b6xaVvgeM

Perhaps if there is music in heaven it might sound like this

Living in Italy with my mom and my brother...Dad was doing his tour in Vietnam. Went to school at the military base, but lived in he middle of the "piazza" in Leghorn. Really cool couple of years back then for me.

Heard those same songs translated in Italian that year.

4th grade for me.

5th grade was when I understood it would have been a lot more fun to have been 6-7 years older......

Jim B Where did you get the duel pipes for your 91 560? Since the end of the original pipes are at a down angle.

Don't remember Soul Coaxing, but Love is Blue was my fav song at the time. I was in 6th grade and learned it on the guitar.
Still like the song Not long after, I think Clasical Gas came out. Spent years trying to learn that on the guitar, but never got very good at it.

That song was played at my parents' wedding reception in '69. I know that because my mother told me every time we heard it on the radio.

Wink Ah, 1968

Don't recall "Soul Coaxing" when it was new, but I do remember "Love Is Blue." I was in the second half (spring semester, we'd say today) of 9th grade and struggling with Spanish. "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." had just been canceled in mid-season, but at least we had "Laugh-In."

I don't recall the Tet Offensive on the news, but I dimly remember LBJ's speech to the nation, stating he wouldn't run in '68. And then, a few months later, came the NBC News interruption to "Ironside," stating that Martin Luther King had just been shot in Memphis.

I was in love for the second time in my life, this time with a girl a whole year younger (and when you're 14, that year gap can seem pretty big). Like the first one, and so many others in my life, she didn't have much interest in me. I ran across what I'm pretty sure is her current picture on the 'Net not long ago, and boy, what time can do to ya --!

We finished 9th grade in May, and I was sprung at last after 3 years from what my friends and I called "Stalag 28" (McDonogh 28, in New Orleans -- called "junior high" then, "middle school" for some strange reason now). It was a strict school: No running in the hallways, no loitering by your lockers, and at one point the Commandant instituted a rule where we had to walk only in single file, no talking, when changing classes. That institutional mindset can stay with you. I'd been at my high school for two weeks before I realized I didn't have to follow those rules any more!

It is the Remus exhaust mentioned in my signature. I recently got the last new old stock one left in the USA and installed it

That's totally what my folks used to listen to back then. I do really like "Love is Blue" though. I was also a big Mancini and Percy Faith fan. And oh yeah, Mace Adams is awesome!
