The Hidden Truth Behind Hotel Drinking Glasses

Oops . . .

I don't use hotels much, don't feel comfortable in them.

We had that recently on here, I guess one can't be reminded too often, since little changes are to be anticipated.

Bring your own glasses, or at least a dish washing detergent and wash hotel glasses yourself with hot water.

If I only drink water, I prefer disposable plastic out of the sealed wrapper.

Whoops, must have missed it. Oh well, I'll leave it up for a few days.

Hotels are not clean place, those who have to travel frequently know that quite well. Most have suffered botulism or food poisoning quite a few times in their lives and these are from reputed hotels. Years back there was an undercover investigation done by ABC in NYC. They showed good restaurants and hotels in the city using homeless to get their salads etc. cut. Hotels across the world are the same, nowhere is it that different except maybe Japan where I saw exceptional cleanliness maintained even in small hotels.

I'm not a germophobe but I had to stop at the cleaning glove segment.

Dee8go 02-15-2008 10:56 AM

The worst is not when they clean the glasses with Windex. It's when they use the rag they just used to clean the toilet.

I deal with hotels a lot and when they need to make budget cuts, guess where they start cutting?

Google hotel bed bugs.

Sleep Cheap I use has individually wrapped, plastic disposable cups.

I trust my immune system, and a compete lack of knowledge about the more gruesome stuff, to allow me to sleep at night. :D

I've never experienced bed bugs (knock on wood) but I hear they're on the increase.

I read one story of people being reduced to tears after weeks of unsuccessfully trying to get rid of them.

When the weather's good, and I'm on the road (by myself) and need to crash, I look for a patch of grass to sleep on. Of course if I was a hot young babe, might not be such a good option.

And I'm not a businessman who needs to look sharp in the morning.

Why even stay in a motel or hotel??

Buy your own diesel-motorcoach, and take your quarters with you.
