so you always wanted to be a Viscount

Found an ad for this in the back of a British magazine that showed up in my mail:

We Sell Genuine Bygone English Lordship Titles, and Titles of Nobility For Sale

Wierd! Had no idea just how true it is that money can buy you anything.

Hey the Lordship of Camp is up for sale. I wonder if Kerry would be interested.

I also noticed the Lordship of Studley is available. There's a title.

many moons ago, they called me "Contessa."

an American citizen cannot take on such a title as specified by law. I cannot remember where but I do think being "Knighted" is one you cannot get either

I've conferred the title of Lord upon a friend with Scottish heritage as a gift in the past- was a hit, and he pulls it out on business trips once in a while...

I'd love to have a Von in my name.:D

It would be more useful if you could purchase a family tree "grafting" branch. I wouldn't mind the "benefits" of association to companies with my same last name.

Thank God the only English title DJ came with was “Ms.---”.

Then when we married, she had to go with “Mrs.---” ;)

I put up with a lot of "UK crap" around here.
Thank God, all that title stuff is not part of it.

Since I am reading Churchill it seems like have the people in Britian are called "Lord".

It certianly would look pretty on the old business card.:D

My family got kicked out of England, read hopped on the Mayflower, a few years ago. I wonder if we're black-listed? :P

Lord of Locksley is available... Robin Hood's title is available? Would be cool for someone named Robin or who would like to name their child Robin. Robin of Locksley. Sweet.

rickg 02-16-2008 12:41 AM

Yeah, I saw that one too.:D Surprised someone hasn't snagged that one up in a hurry.

Some have said that I'm a no-count . . . . but I'm striving to count for something!
