I didn't listen to the whole clip of the GAO chief, but I am left wondering why he made the video in the first place. Seems a bit strange, unless it's in his job description to do this type of thing. I can't recall ever seeing another like it.
It almost appears political in nature. It looks as if it was edited too. Why? Parting shot: He sure looks and talks like an accountant!  zzzzzzzzzz  (Sorry, but I couldn't listen to the full 9 minute clip.) Suzee's reply, well, that's easy enough to understand. And absolutely true too. A return to the gold standard? Is there enough gold on the planet to back the sea of greenbacks throughout the world?  (Admission: I'm a guy who won't waste time reading any joke longer that 2 short paragraphs in an email.  )Who sang this tune?....."and I don't give a damn about a greenback dollar, spend 'em fast as I can" I forget, but that comes with age. What were we discussing again?

Just because the man knows what he's talking about, why should we listen to him and take it seriously. After all he's only the Comptroller General for the Government Accountability Office. Not really somebody who is important like Britney Spears.
Why am I watching this on youtube and not on the news networks? Why aren't the Presidential canidates debating this grim economic forecast? Does anyone really care about the very near future of this country? As long as we continue to ignore the problem, it will won't be a problem. Don't worry, be happy.

Reminds me of the good old days in Italy. If you wanted to buy one of those little FIATs you'd have to come up with a few million Lira. Hard to believe, isn't it? Btw, Suze didn't respond to that, she's a 'no brainer'. I thought she'd do a good job to get this thread going ....

Maybe, but I vaguely recall some other short haired, white sock penny loafer guitar playing white male folksinger group of that day. A one hit wonder group. Chad Mitchell Trio maybe ?? I could google it, but I'm not that interested. Back on topic.. I have a friend who moved to Mexico and built a lovely home high up on a hill. He works for Hilton or Sheraton, iirc and lives outside a tourist destination. Likes the lifestyle a lot & is very happy there. He moved from New Jersey, so that's understandable!
