Another "Excellent Adventure" Coming Up!

As many of you know, I purchased a 560SL from a forum member and drove it from West Palm Beach, FL to the DC burbs. It was a great, uneventful drive.

I'm now fixin to hitch up the 300SDL Greasecar and the wife and head to the MS Coast this weekend. I'll be there around a week. I will then put the wife on a plane back to DC and head to FT Polk, LA for another week. After that, on to Springfield, MO for a couple of days before heading back to DC. It will be a lot of driving, but I'm confident the old girl (the car) will hold up fine.

I'll be low on grease when I reach MS, so if anyone in MS or LA has some to spare, please let me know. I'll post updates on the marathon.

You are correct. Have to go to all these places for work and it would be a pain to try and fly to each one.

Thanks Rich. I have that one bookmarked but there doesn't seem to be anyone on my route.

I had a near miss with Polk last month, it would have been nice to visit B, but I was not a bit excited about seeing Ft. Polk.

My little hippie love nest was just north of Peason Ridge, an area I hope to return to in a few years and never leave again. Until then, I'm hoping to do an adventure in habitat mapping there.

Trip Update!

Well, we left Saturday and made it to Atlanta. Just had a new Pioneer Video Unit with GPS installed in the Grease Car and it worked flawlessly! Set a new personal record Sunday as we made it from Atlanta to the MS Coast in 4.5 hours. This SDL really moves! I"ll try and post some pics in the next day or two. On to wonderful FT Polk, LA Friday.

Which one are you bringing to the NC GTG? I'd like to see the video unit. Did you go with the Z3?

By the time you get down here to Loozyana, it'll probably be warm and sticky enough that you can just wipe your forehead and get all the grease you need.

Still on the MS Coast. Doesn't look like they are ever going to get this place rebuilt. Just Casino's and Condo's are being built on the Beach. FT Polk tomorrow. I really get to travel to exotic places with my job. At least they're sending me to Vegas for a few days next month!
