What do you like to listen to on the radio?

I usually listen to a smooth jazz station when I'm listening to terrestrial radio. Howard Stern, jazz, or blues on the satellite radio. I discovered that they've now changes the format of the jazz station to oldies and put Don Imus (Don Anus) on in the morning. I guess I'll have to get my office rigged up for the satellite now. I just can't listen to Don Anus!

Most of the time I listen to CD's because I like to have control of what I'm listening too. When I listen to the radio, It's usually the local college stations because they play stuff that's new and different. I can't listen to any talk radio or sports...

I have a wide range of musical taste but when I'm driving, it's usually someting active, techno, rockin'. My buddy is a professional DJ and he burns me DJ mixes for continuous entertainment!

Country 92.5, or 99.1 PLR. Thats it. I like blasting country in the city around all the home boys, they freak out.

Long Island has a hard rock station thats pretty good, 95.9 I think it is.

I rarely listen to the radio anymore. It's turned into commercial radio with about 10 minutes of music per hour that I never end up catching. I use my iPod and find out about new music on the web.

I listen to a community radio station, they have the BBC news at the top of each hour.

Yep..mostly CD's for me too. I listen to Winamp at work with all of my mp3's on my PC.

On my morning commute though (30-40 minutes)...I have ADD and listen to a mixture of ESPN radio (AM 1350)....the Preston and Steve show on 93.3 WMMR (I lose it 15 minutes from my house).....NPR....or 88.5 XPN.

XPN is the best thing I've found on the radio - it's member supported and really ecletic. I'm pretty sure you can stream it online if you aren't near Philly. http://www.xpn.org/

Evening commute - I switch gears and listen to the Don and Mike Show. I suppose the fall into the shock jock category - but much funnier and more cerebral.

Only radio station I can stomache is the local NPR affiliate. All the music stations play the same 10 songs, regular talk radio makes me want to drive my car into a concrete wall, and I don't understand the spanish stations but they sound like they are having a lot of fun.

It's really the only station with any local and international coverage, so it does good for me.

I have Sirius and listen to 80's, 90's, Smooth Jazz, NPR, BBC, New Country, Prime Country, The Spanish station (they have fun music! ) and a few others. No commercials, it is awesome.

Cannot stand regular radio any more, and the only time I tune in is saturday at noon to hear the yokel news and see who shot who friday night. Listening is 100% satellite radio [Sirius], and most of that is old country, or Mojo Nixon on Outlaw country. That guy is quite a trip.

Sirius for my eclectic mix of musical urges (see Nate's Music Tastes thread) and NASCAR Radio, which is when I'm in the car and at work if I'm stuck to my desk (rare once we get busy). Otherwise ESPN Radio. No more talk radio for the Swamp.

One thing I wish Sirius had was a censored (read work safe or kid safe) version of their stations, which is ironically exactly what satellite radio was getting away from. I listen to Octane a lot and like their selection along with the lack of commercials, but when I'm here or at home it has to be low for the potty words that pop up. Octane Safe is what I'm looking for!

I used to listen to Stern but after my 5yo was born the "retard" jokes and bits went from just being unfunny to really rubbing me the wrong way. I'm demented enough to find a lot of his stuff funny, though. Even Bubba. Although I think Bubba tries too hard to out-gross himself. I haven't listened to either one of them in quite awhile.

I hear ya Swamp (don't think that 3rd person reference didn't go unnoticed either)....I can imagine your reaction to that stuff. Being open-minded only goes so far.

Mike and Mike? The Herd? I can't listen to Mike Tirico - and I could never make it to the Dan Patrick Show anyway - after a full morning of regurgitating the same lame topics.

I used to like Eric K (sports bash) more than any of them....I like when he fills in for Greenie.

The NAB is the lobbying force that is working to block the Sirius/XM merger. They don't need to worry about competition from satellite radio, they're doing a good job of destroying their ratings themselves. Commercial radio really sucks!

It's funny (funny odd, not funny hah hah ), make fun of me, my appearance, what I'm wearing, my hair or general lack thereof, my smoky, smelly "chick colored" girly wagon, whatever, and I can deal with it. But when there's a connection to one of your kids, I don't know how to explain it, it just hits you different. I gives you a knot in your stomach, I just want to squeeze him and never let him go. Shelter him forever. He really is his best advocate, as a 5yo he probably has better name and face recognition than our mayor. But free speech is free speech whether it offends you or not. I just choose not to listen/watch/read.

But I digress, as far as ESPN radio (when I have to listen to an actual radio radio ), I make it through Mike & Mike and the Herd and then I switch over to the local rock station and that finishes off the work day. I don't listen to anything after Colin. I do like Kuselias. While I enjoy watching him on NASCAR Now on ESPN2 (a move which I thought was strange at the time but does seem to be going well), I do miss listening to him on the radio.
