Report: Louisiana Second Most Dangerous State
State jumps eight spots to #2 in CQ Press annual ranking

March 17, 2008

Louisiana ranks number two on the CQ Press "Most Dangerous State Award" list. It's the 15th annual list of the most dangerous states based on six crime categories: murder, rape, aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, and car theft.

The award for the most dangerous state went to Nevada this year.

Louisiana jumped eight spots from last year's ranking to number two. The state had the highest murder rate in the report.

I wonder what the common denominator is for the dangerous states.

Also, the District of Columbia. It's verrrry safe because they don't allow guns there . . .

I just drove through their on the highway, I wouldn't get off unless I was in an APC! I have been in some bad spots but that place is freaken scary.

Seriously, it must be Vegas, because there isn't really much major crime around here. Meth use and DUI's aplenty, but not much of the serious stuff.
