Here's TV Johnny, he's working on jewel encrusting a 14 in. bundt cake rim, putting on an AMG centercap, and making it into a chain. It ought to be ready in time for Beach Party Weekend in Galveston.

Yeah, for a cat person I have a really odd interest in dog breeds. I've always gravitated to the unusual breeds, though, so that's probably why I'm familiar with salukis. Very handsome animals! It's funny, I work as a sports copy editor and our local football team (the Delaware Blue Hens) played Southern Illinois in the I-AA playoffs this year ... S. Illinois has a Saluki as its mascot ... I was the only one in on the sports desk who knew what a Saluki was ... kind of surprised me, but made me feel smart.;) Guess not everybody watches as much Animal Planet as me ...

I ATTENDED SIU and had to have someone tell me what the heck a Saluki was!!! :D

On another tangent, the weirdest mascot I witnessed was when SIU played a game against the Wichita State Shockers! Took me a while to figure out what the heck that thing was that moved about on the sidelines...I guess it was a giant "shock" of wheat! Is that supposed to be intimidating or something? "OMIGOD!!! LOOK OUT!!!! Here comes some WHEAT!!! RUN!!!! :eek:

My daughter will be a Hokie next year at Virginia Tech. They're apparently known as "the fighting Gobblers." I'm sorry, but I burst out laughing everytime I hear that. I mean how do you end up with such a mascot as that?! Lose a bet?

Then there's the University of SC's team, the Gamecocks, or as they are sometimes refered to just the "Cocks." I thought to myself when I heard that, "Pretty proud of yourself, aren't you?"

My SIL is a VT grad. When we went to her graduation, we walked around town and noticed how everything was named with "hokie". I don't think I could consider going to "Hokie Haircuts".:D

When I lived in Arkansas, everything in the state has these red pigs on it. Everything is Razorbacks.
