The W126, so simple a kid can fix it!
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=217076
Just had to repost this, its to funny! My little cousin seems to show interest in my car, maybe I will try to get him to change the glow plugs for me next time around.:D I wonder if he could pull and time the IP...hmmm...:D |
I just bought another one yesterday.
An 040 black '89 SEC. |
Your going to have a fleet Jim!:D I hear a 500E calling your name...:D
|
I pulled the IP out of one of my '68 220D's. Was NOT a fun job. I towed the car to a shop and payed a guy to put it back in(after I had it rebuilt) and time it. Glow plugs aren't TOO bad, if ya have that special socket.
My next Benz will probably be another W126, either another SD, or I'd really like a late 560SEC for a sunday cruiser. As much as I like the Toyota, there's nothing more stable feeling at high cruise than a W126:cool: |
The IP on the 603 doesn't look too bad, I'll probably find out at some point.
I want an SL500 next, or a W211 next. If diesel keeps this up the prices on CDI's will come right down.:D |
yes, almost too easy! i did the rear rotors on my 90 300se the other day and i think it took all of 90 minutes, and 20 minutes of that was getting the two lugs off with a mapp gas torch! (over zealous friend w/ 1/2" drive air gun he uses for truck repairs put the wheel on last time!).
