Went to the NY car show today...

It was a lot of fun but I'm not going to rush out and trade the SDL in.:D The new stuff is nice but kind of meh, I rather put the money elsewhere at this point.

The talk of the town this year was diesels. MB should offer one in just about ever car come 2009-10, and BMW is following suit.:D:cool:

I have to say last year MB really put BMW to shame they had a much better display, this year BMW was on top. The new BMW's are really fantastic cars. The new 1 series is out, I can see that car filling up the high school parking lots down in Fairfield. Its a kids car, small, cheaper, but still a BMW. The coupe had 300hp so that little car must really fly! The average age of the person looking at it seemed to be 17.

MB had the usual out, I actualy didn't really bother sitting in any because I have already seen them all at the dealer, or driven them. The CL550 had a line and some home boys were jacking up the radio. So didn't get to see that...

The SL now has a C class style front end, not sure if I like it or not. Its not bad looking but I really liked the way the other car looked.

Oh and BMW is now going to build a good looking 7 series again. After the fat assed Bangle previous gen, this is what the new one should look like:

In person its a stunning car, and you can see the body lines and DNA of the pretty 7 series coming out.

The kidney grill is very pronounced.

So they screwed up the previous gen, but the next one has potential. MB kind of hit a dud with the W220 so we can't through stones. Well except the W220 was a good looking car...

I thought that BMW concept was a Jag. I doubt it will look like that seeing as it doesnt really have a front bumper :)

I'd like to see the new Jag XF in person.

BMW really screwed up the 1 series. The backseat is about as useful as that of a Mustang's, it weighs 150 pounds short of a bigger 3 Series (wow for a tiny car that thing sure is a PORKER!), it's only 5K cheaper, it looks ugly, the interior is cheap.

THey should have just made it a light weight 2 seater coupe. I hate useless backseats.

They are going to sell a ton of them to rich kids, I get the feeling they nailed the market on that one. Its actualy not that much smaller than the 3 series.

The Jag XF is very nice, its the car the crappy S type always should have been. Its still a Jag though kind of cheesy in places but sexy and cool as hell. The shifter is a knob that pops up and you rotate it to select a gear. Very cool! No key either must use a card that you keep in your wallet.

Looks like the Chrysler Charger Cop car.

Did BMW get bought by Chrysler? Just kidding...............he he

I was thinking the same thing... It looks like a cross breed of a 850i and a Charger! Of course those are both cool cars so I am happy!
Thank God the "Bangle Bustle" is going away!

It is a big improvment over the present beemer.

I could do without the fussy superficial surface treatment though.

It's a very low car, so it works in real life. Its much lower than the Charger.

Is Chris Bangle still involved? The only one of that generation I ever liked the look of was the 6 Series. It was okay. The rest sucked.
