I'm in Houston this week

Today I think I may go to the railroad museum in Galveston, they have forty cars and or engines there plus an interesting sounding building.

Lat night we ate at the Aquarium Restaruant at the Kema pier. there is a huge aquarium in the center of it with everything from sharks to a pretty large sea bass (I think). At six oclock a diver goes in and feeds them.

Good fun.

My shrimp was good, probably frozen from China!

You should make your way to San Antonio so I can meet at least one member here. I would go to Houston, but I am afraid the beast would be stuck on the side of the road.

San Antonio is very cool. I stayed at La Mansion with my wife and enjoyed the River Walk, the Tower of the Americas, and the Alamo.

What did you think of our "flesh-eating bacteria" San Antonio River?

I hadn't heard of this before. A quick google search made me thankful I didn't touch the water while I was there.

Thanks for the offer but I don't think I can make it to lovely San Antonio this time.

Houston is a fun town, my best memory is we were partying on the railing at a bar on the Bayou that had a high bridge over it and a body was dropped from the bridge....

no chit, is it bad I still laugh about that?

I've been to San Antonio, but I think that was before they had the flesh-eating bacteria. I can see I'll need to visit it again!

I had a drink at the Menger(sp?) Hotel bar and toasted T Roosevelt and the Rough Riders. I think that's right next to the Alamo, isn't it?

yeah. My mom used to be a waitress at tne Menger bar. She heard lots of complaints from guests about hauntings and what not.

I went to the Railroad museum today in Galveston. It was good but a little disappointing. It looked like it had been set up fifteen years ago and not much has been taken care of since.

I enjoyed walking through the cars.

I think I must be getting old when I saw a car that looked like one I rode in when I was a kid!

Tomorrow I think maybe I might visit the Air museum.

Make obeisance at the San Jacinto "battlefield". Old Texans pronounce it "San Jasinta" (rather than Sahn Hasinto) because they said when you win the battle you get to name it.

Also at San Jacinto is the USS Texas, and old pre WWII ship. Well maintained.

Then down the road is Johnson Space Center. Wave at the nice engineer, he's my brother.

Well, if you have the misfortune to end up in a Houston ER, if the doc is guy from NJ, ask him if he's got an uncle in Honolulu.

If he hangs-out with Katrina refugees he just might get a shot at meeting the doc.

I have been to the texas on a previous trip but I don't remember the battlefield. I thought I saw a flat top parked where it must be decomissioned too. I am a sucker for ships!
