I got pulled over by the only GTO Police Car :)

On the way to Kansas City I got pulled over on Highway 2, I was a tad over the limit and saw a plack car pull around after me. Sure as hell i see a GTo charging up behind me. I got a warning after a little talk with the police officer. he says it is the only GTO police car, I did a search for it online and others have been pulled over by it to but there are no pics I could find. Figured I would share something a little different. I hear this Otto County has an RT Charger too. I want to be law enforcment there

I wasn't aware that they even enforced the speed limit in Kansas. I've driven faster there than anywhere I've ever been and the cops don't seem to pay much attention. Maybe i was just lucky or something.

Very cool! I am glad he only gave you a warning.

I have seen lots of Mustang state troopers and now Chargers. I did not know anybody used a GTO though. Must be a real treat to get out of a Crown Vic for the cop!

yah it seems like crown vics are going out of style or something. All the police vehicles in my area are being replaced with Chargers.

Ditto the Chargers up here in Ontario as well. They look mean all decked out...definitely have more 'presence' than the Crown Vics, though I'm not sure that is a good thing.

Damn I would have floored it and tried to race him, not knowing it was a cop.

They use Chargers around here, the locals got their hands on a black unmarked one, even has wheels on it so no way to tell if its a cop or not. They have been putting it to good use, I see it on various streets writing tickets all the time.

The local's mostly have Crown Vic's but they do have quite a few Chargers as well.

OH YAH?

Well I got pulled over by an AMC Matador!

And not the sporty version!

Yah, that "boxy" POS that WI. bought before AMC went under like a lead-duck decoy.

(Back in either '75 or '76...)

What's the dorkiest "Barney Fife" ride to ever pull you guys over?

I've seen them use unmarked pickup trucks here in Gwinnett County, GA.
I have also seen unmarked pickups in the Tampa/Clearwater area of Florida.

Though the Ambassador was also offered as a police car, the Matador would prove to be very popular. The largest user of Matador patrol cars was the Los Angeles Police Department from 1972 to 1974. It was also used by other agencies, including the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department and many other law enforcement agencies across the U.S. and Canada, as well as by military police units.
While V8 power was down for many domestic sedans, AMC used a 401 cu in (6.6 L) V8 engine that outpowered most other police vehicles. Zero to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) times were within 7 seconds, comparable to a 2006 Hemi Charger police car.[2] Top speed was about 125 miles per hour (201 km/h), which took only 43 seconds, much faster than the previous Plymouth Satellite. However, 1974 would be the last year for the LAPD's use of the Matador. The longer-nosed restyle added weight which affected handling and performance, and was less reliable. The model would soon fade in police fleets as downsized Ford's, Chevrolet's and Dodge Diplomat-based cars became adopted in the late 1970s. Matador police cars would appear in many television shows and movies during the 1970s.
