Biggest A-Hole pilot to date.

I’ve joked around plenty with passengers. But, nothing like this.

Just what the hell was this pilot thinking, pulling this maneuver?

If I was that girl, I’d get out and make sure he got a great big hug. Not to mention, I’d toss that bag (open) on his lap right then and there.
The rest of “it” would be aimed at the back of his head.

What an absolute A-Hole.

On the other side of the coin...is an awesome dad. Hats off to this guy.

The first one just pisses me off.

The second one, we’ve been through here a zillion times with our two kids.
Now (8 and 11), they are both +/- 6G comfortable all day long.

But there was some time spent getting them to that point.

Luckily for me, DJ handles most of the aerobatics around here.
She, much like the dad in the Aerobat with his son, knows how to communicate and knows when to stop.

“Good boy, Andy.” Gotta love it.

I can relate to the plane/barf thing... I let loose in my lap in the back seat of a Varga Kachina when I was a teenager with my dad flying.

Funny, now when I fly, I only get sick when someone else is at the controls. As soon as I take the controls, I feel better!

I wish my dad was as supportive and cool during a heave.

Common sense dictates that getting all pissed off at your kid for spewing after you’ve tossed them around in the sky for 20 minutes will not help the situation.

On the other hand….
DJ has had students tell her: “I was feeling a little sick…but I thought I’d be ok…so I didn’t say anything.” after they blew chunks all over her 300L.

Now that will piss her right off.

I do fine in an aeroplane until somebody barfs. I then spontaneously join the song. It's weird. Even watching it in a itty-bitty Youtube screen makes me wish I hadn't seen it. Ick.

My friend said that taking the controls will still his nausea pretty quickly. So one time when we were going to FL and I was beginning to sweat waaaay too much he gave me the controls and it worked for me. Did he pull a psychology thing on me or is that a real phenomenon?

BTW, I found that Bonine makes my discomfort worse, not better. Not nausea, but the drug feeling. I read about eating ginger (the spice) and found that worked to control nausea without the awful druggie feeling.

B

PS You're right, that first pilot was an ass.

Yeah, that first pilot was an ass.

I need to get back into flying. My plane has been sitting for a while now, and its fun to fly.

Hey, maybe when I get back into the swing of things, I can fly down to visit...

I think this works because in effect, it "completes the circuit" between what the eye sees, the movement of the hands on the controls and the expected sensations that result.

That's the case for me too. If I ride in a car, it has to either be real smooth, or I have to sit in front. Even in the front, it doesn't take much screwing around by the driver before I feel it.

In a plane, I'm not real sure, I haven't flown since I was about 14. I didn't tend to get sick as easy back then. I've apparently gotten a pretty bad B12 defecit, I and I think that's part of the cause.

Okay, airplane barf story. Pretty routine flight with a coworker, normal turbulance, nothing bad. My coworker, sitting on the aisle, nudges me and gestures to the kid on the aisle opposite him. Kid's pale, face in a bag, makes a deposit then hands the bag to his mom who folds the top and sets it on the floor or something. Getting off the plane, she hands the bag to one of the attendants near the cockpit. The attendant looked a little bewildered, kinda carefully held the bag by a corner.

Also, I was on a spectacularly rough flight from Frankfurt to Memphis. There was a big storm in the gulf and Memphis had more than normal traffic. So we're in a holding pattern for a long time in really rough air. One of the attendants said 14 people lost it on that one.

Personally, I haven't barfed since 1983.

Boats are the same way. When someone decides to sing the lead of Mal de Mer, everyone so inclined wants to get in on the act.

I was on Elissa during daysails one fall and it was piping up nicely in the roads....something like 6'-10' where the tide was working against the prevailing wind and I counted 44 guests lined up at the lee rail. Weird thing was there was only about 20 minutes of water like that and then we were in the Gulf where it was much smoother...only about 20 of those people recovered enough to enjoy the remainder of the day.
