Anyone here smoke "fancy" cigarettes?
I don't smoke anymore, and I am glad that I don't, but when I did, I often bought the top-shelf brands at the local tobacco shop. Since I only had about two a day, it wasn't really a matter of cost.
Anyone else out these a weirdo like me and enjoy the fancy smokes? I think my fave had to be Botschafter Vanilla..man, those were amazing! And the box was so fancy. They were honestly good enough that I would consider buying a pack again, just for the heck of it...and I really have no desire to ever smoke again. Most of the time I stuck with Dunhill or Nat Sherman stuff.

I liked Dunhills, Davidoffs, Nat Shermans, Cohibas and English Ovals. I also enjoyed Sweet Dreams vanilla and cherry smokes and occasionally a Kretek or Djarum.
I haven't smoked in a long time, but I'd bum one of these if someone around me had a pack.

I also liked the Sweet Dreams that were black..some kind of Russian blend. 555s were basically the same thing as Dunhill. Hmm what else..before I quit, I had started to make my own cigarettes and was using Peter Stokkebye blends- that was cheap!! But yeah..nowadays who can afford it? Back then (probably 3 years now) these fancy ones were around $5-7 a pack.

How much do they cost? The last time I bought a pack, I spent $6 for a pack of Nat Sherman MCDs.

Here in the Buffalo NY area smokes are 7.00 and up for name brand. At the Indian Reservation they are quite a bit less (Tax free) But the Indian brands such as "Seneca" are 19.95 a carton. Last year at this time they were 10.00 per carton. NY has been trying to make the Indians charge Tax but the Indians claim it is against a Treaty. It is tied up in court now. About 10 years ago NY was pushing on the Indians for other tax issues and they (Indian) held up traffic on the NYS Thruway which runs thru the Seneca Nation Res. by burning tires in the road.

Wow, cheap death down there Texas way. Regular smokes are about $7 here in CT, and in NYC they're $10. I smoke about 5 cigs a week, so I've stepped up to the Nat Shermans.

nothin' like a clove and some Hennessy. I've been hand rolling lately (not that I smoke much). You can access much finer tobaccos if you buy them unprocessed. |
