New family member

For those remember; I lost my Emily back in Christmas and I miss her terribly everyday. So this is totally without my knowledge. My girlfriend had been visiting Shih Tzu breeders all over the surrounding States and finally found one she thought would be a good match for me. So this morning she drove up to PA and picked up this 7-week old puppy and brought her to my house. After the the initial shock (well a little angry as well because I have no plan for a new puppy in my life any time soon), I took Niki shopping, showed her around her new home, and took her around the yard. She already learned a couple of commands and seemed to adjust well. I have to take her to the vet Monday to have her checked out and schedule for all her shots.

I have mixed feelings about replacing Emily so soon, but I also know what a bundle of joy these fur babies can bring. Surely my house feels more lively now. Here are a couple of pictures of my newly delivered "baby girl".

Well now Sport, you think of it in this fashion........

After the girlfriend is gone you'll have a true friend who will always greet y'all with enthusiasm, will not criticise you and will keep you company at night.

Of course there are strings attached, unqualified love, training, regular walkings and feedings but these things sometimes beat to hell all the problems of interacting with the human species.

Best of luck, and remember......there are no bad dogs, just careless owners.

Open your heart, the rest will come soon...

I lost a 15 year pet last fall and still miss him terribly.
2 weeks ago I found his twin (looks and attiude) and like you thought it was too soon...

This morning I worke up and found him snuggled up between me and the wife on the bed.

He's offically part of the family now and hopefully we will give back the love he is giving us.

Now is the perfect time....Maybe "Emma" will bring you about and help you move forward. She sure is a cutie and will love you unconditionally. Nice gesture on your girlfriends part....

Emily is not mad at you! New friends help you adjust to the loss of old one, and shih-tzus are super dogs. My whole family has them except for me (I live in an apartment, and have travel plans that would be unfair to a dog).

Congratulations on your new kimosabe!
