It's not a Benz, it's not a Mercedes,
it's a Mercedes Benz. The man across the street was just telling me how he hates to hear people refer to his car as a 'Benz' or a 'Mercedes'. He prefers 'Mercedes Benz'. Kind of reminds me of my cousins in San Francisco who cringe when people say 'Frisco' lol.

Although "Benz" and "Mercedes" are what we call our cars it is proper to refer to them as "Mercedes Benz Automobiles" since the last true Mercedes or Benz was built before the merger after WWI
|
Wow.
|
I say Mercs.... That'd probably piss him off. :D
|
Lol..... I call them Mercs as well.
I use Mercedes alot too.... Never Benz by itself though. |
I call mine a "Benz" quite often. "Mercedes" fairly often too. Never "Mercedes-Benz," probably because it is just too long. Nobody assumes that my car is nearing a century in age.
|
It's ..... the BLUE CAR!
|
I call it "the heap". I could GAF what other people call it.
|
I usually call them just mercedes. My black sdl I usually just called the black car.
My dodge truck is referred to as "The big dog". The 280e autocrosser is "The race car". My 300cd is called "Neville" by my youngest lovely daughter.....and now by me too. Tom W |
How about MB?
|
In conversation, I refer to my car as a Benz. Originally, Mercedes was a model of the Benz automobile.
.......but you knew that. :D |
I was born there.

We called the SL600 the black car for a while, and then got the G500, which is also black.... Black car no longer works... |

Although Mercedes sounds more like a spanish name you see it from time to time still as ladies names. There is a lady who goes to our church with it as her name but she insists on it being pronounced with the first sylabel (SP?) emphasised. Tom W |
We call it 'the Mercedes', the 'Tank' or the "Benzer".
