Old Concept Cars, and what they turned into

After following a link from TheDon's post about quirky Saab's and cars in general, I came upon the 1964 PONTIAC 'BANSHEE' XP-833 - It sure looks like a mid 70's Corvette to me http://www.strangevehicles.com/content/item/121413.html.
There are a few other cars, that reminded me of current day vehicles.
Do any of you see similarities, or is it just me and my imagination?

btw... they had the MB F700 in their list as well.

This Pontiac, looks an awful lot like the Corvette, minus the teeth. http://www.strangevehicles.com/content/item/121421.html

This car, eventhough it is a Dodge, makes me think of the sides from the new retro T-bird. http://www.strangevehicles.com/content/item/121423.html

That Pontiac doesn't look a lot different than a mid-60's Jaguar E-Type to my eye.

The rear end, looks an awful lot like the first generation Chrysler Minivans.

The front end looks like it has an upside down rear bumper, and headlights stolen from a Ford EXP.

The Pontiac looks to be a very nice blend of 3rd gen vette, jag wheel openings and pontiac grill. I like it very much. I don't remember if from the old days at all.

The two chryslers are Ghia show cars and are pretty familiar looking to me. The 55/56 chrysler 300 owes a lot to Ghia designs and IMHO was one of the best large car designs of the era.

I didn't look at the amc thing because every time I visited the links my internet shut down after looking at them.

Fun stuff, though. I really like the banshee!

A customizer I worked for (Karl Green) built that very AMC van and a bunch of other cars for AMC including a 4x4 Pacer pick-up that a designer from Subaru took many photos and measurements, then one month later announced the proposed 'BRAT' pick-up.
When I worked for Karl he still had some of those old Gremlins and Pacers laying around; they were looking pretty sad. He offered them to me for free, I didn't want them, they didn't have titles.

Those Pontiacs are definitely Vettesque. I wonder if Harley Earl designed the earlier of the two, if not he was definitely an influence.

I'm warped enough to admit that I'm oddly drawn to that AMC AM Van complete with side pipes and turbine wheels. I wonder if it had a shag interior?

The rear end treatment is interesting since it was ex-AMC guys who designed the 1st gen minivan...

I am thinking the thing looks very much like the scion Xa (I think) and would probably sell well today.

AMC always 10 years ahead and 10 dollars short
