I'd like to see Colin Powell, George Carlin or Arnold Swartzeneger(sp) run.

Weird, I can't think of any current politicians that I would choose. The have all been poisoned by the system they are ensconced in.

Walter Cronkite, Linda Ellerbee, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas.

I can recall hearing these folks speak at various times and they seem to be very intelligent, compassionate, creative and honest.

I can also think of a few professors and teachers I had over the years as well.

hmmm...
Since we are looking at non starters (Arnold) due to their being non-native born citizens, I would go for

Winston Churchill

Maggie Thatcher

Reagan

From living people...

I don't know...

Colin or Condi look good to me but both of them have more sense than to jump into that firepit.


Maybe we need someone like Howard Dean to be president for a term so that people can get their common sense back ;)

One of those names is not like the others, one of those names is not the same...

I'm surprised to see Powell as one of your choices. His military background is certainly admirable, though.
