Do you take naps?
I called a friend to find out when I can stop by to get my chainsaw back (borrowed 2 months ago and said he was going to return it 6 weeks ago). His wife answers the phone and requested I call later, he is taking a nap.
I call back another friend who asked for a referral to get his Jeep rear axles bearings replaced and I get the same story. Besides pondering over why when someone borrows something I often need to pick it up, how many of you take daily naps? I never take naps, I hit the sack at 10-11 PM and up at around 5 AM (my work involves dealing with Europe) but thats my everyday routine. |
To answer your question: What are these "naps" you speak of?
No I don't believe I take them unless I am so tired I cannot keep my eyes open and that is very rare. I used to work 3rd shift and I would stay awake Sun and go in to work that night and by Mon morning, I had gone to Night shift. On Thu morning, I would stay awake and sleep at night. Back to Day shift. |
Most mornings I take a 22 minute nap more or less after breakfast. It is most cherished.

I nap with the wife every time I can. Thats only weekends though and most of those I am out of town (so I don't nap a whole lot)

Yeah once in awhile when I am very busy with school work. Churchill actualy got me doing this and it really does work:
If you can only sleep like 4-5 hours a night(or less) take a nap in the middle of the afternoon and you will feel good. I know I can keep working to 1 or 2 by doing that. |
Sometimes.... Depending on what occurred the night before, I may take a nap....

I know a guy who takes naps in the middle of the day. He actually was the one who introduced me to Mercedes. He's a millionaire now, obviously works for him.

I only nap above 5,000 feet.
Below that, I’m usually too busy taking off or landing. |
Well another reason I spend time on boats, when your on the water everyone takes a mid afternoon nap.:D
Its just so damn relaxing! |
I take a siesta between 2 & 4pm when it is a hot day, which here in south central Texas, come for around nine months of the year.

infrequently. Usually its to "catch up".
I know what your talking about with boats Hattie. 13 hours in one day is my record. |
13 hours on a boat? Thats a good warm up!
If my weekend is good I head down the marina on Friday right after lunch and don't hit dry land again until Sunday night!:D I miss my grandfathers boat. I used to hang out down it on Friday, and go out to dinner with the grandparents. Sail Saturday and end up sleeping on it, and wake up Sunday and sail some more. Actualy my weekend started Thursday night with the Windjammer's.:D Than on Monday if I didn't have to work I would head to the other side of the harbor and clean/hang out on a custom Rybovich most of the day. So between Thursday night and Monday night I spent maybe 12 hours on land. Than of course I worked down the marina when I had to work. Ahh the good old days. |
