Chicago folks: Get your foie gras quick!

http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-foiegras27.html

City of Chicago bans foie gras. This echos my sentiment that foie gras is more dangerous than prostitutes, crack dealers, drunk driving, corrupt politicians, and meth labs.

Thank God!

It's about time our elected officials began tackling the serious issues. That stuff sounds nasty. It SHOULD be banned. As long as they don't outlaw cigars.

I agree with Dee8go, cities can't balance budgets. But they can waste the time passing valuable laws like this.

The day is almost upon us. Indulge, or be banished to the shadows of the suburbs.

They got rid of smoking a while back. There was an NPR special on Chicago's piddling city council last week. some of the issues on their projected agenda were downright hilarious.

Chicago Overturns Foie Gras Ban
May 14, 2008, 3:33 pm
By Nick Fox, New York Times

Chicagoans can feast on foie gras once more. The Chicago City Council just repealed the ban on its sale that it put in place two years ago.

No other American city has prohibited foie gras’ sale, but California has passed a law banning it as of 2012.

The Chicago council’s vote was 37-6, according to the Chicago Tribune’s Web site.

In bringing the measure to the floor, Mayor Richard M. Daley, never a supporter of the ban, ignored pleas from the ban’s sponsor, Alderman Joe Moore, who, The Tribune said, warned his colleagues that, “Tomorrow it could happen to you.”

What “it” was wasn’t clear.

Clear? Of course it means that PETA is going to organize a kidnapping and force feed the mayor until his liver swells . . .

That rates right up there with our county's attempted outdoor smoking ban. Tho they did manage to pass a law against trans-fats. As far as geese are concerned, they are nothing more than flying rats. Kill em all.
