So how clean and organized is your house?

Ok, so we benz owners probably take care of our car and workshop area and have our toolboxes, etc. organized. But how clean and organized is your house, appt, condo, dorm, etc.?

Personally, I am a neat freak. I like things clean and organized (at least try). If you watch the show, "nip tuck" and they show the inside of Dr. Troy's apt and how everything is all clean and metro looking, thats what I like and would eventually get there.

But with owning "classic" cars, it gets difficult. When you go to pick and pull and get a bunch of spare parts at good prices, it starts to get cluttered with all the crap. Also, when your doing restorations or major repairs, you gotta temporarily have doors, panels, tires, rims, and crap laying all over the place. This is the downside to owning a "classic" car vs. buying or leasing something brand new that doesnt require messing up your crib.

How about you guys?

Very.
But, we cheat. We have two maids.

On occasion, we will track in a mess when we’ve been working with the horses in the mud. But it doesn’t last long.

We like things clean, neat and organized. But we’re realistic about it. Not anal.

Only one "maid" here...ME!!

It's too hard to keep everything dusted and vacuumed constantly, but I try to keep the place picked up overall.

I will spend time organizing "junk" drawers when things get too hard to find.

My MIL is a very self-rightwous type, and nothing my wife ( or me) does is ever good enough. She will actually put on a white glove and check for dust in our house!
My wife has several medical issues which prevent her from spending 8 hours a day claening. She has finally given up on trying to please her mother, and has posted a sign,
" My house was clean last week, sorry you missed it".

An example of my MIL---A few years ago, I moved the piano to vacuum behind it, she was visiting at the time. She came running and exclaiming, " I don't want to see how dirty it must be behind that piano." All the time she was cranning her neck to see around me, as I blocked her view. She never did see.

Every area I'm in control of (basement, garage, shed) looks like my infamous desk picture.

My wife does a yeoman's job trying to keep up after the kids, dogs and I. Just don't open up any closed doors and everything just looks lived in and o.k.

I come from a long line of packrats on my mother's side, much to my father's chagrin. It's all part of my cheap Yankee heritage. But I really am making an effort to break free and lighten up the inventory.

Mine tends to slowly degrade until I get frustrated with it and then it'll get straightened up again for a while. It's like a cycle of nature. I get antsy if it's too messy for too long.

I'm the kind of person who can't work through a project and finish it without moving to another and another and so on until I eventually get back to the original. I'm rebuilding the house inside and outside from one end to the other as well as finishing off the garage and about 10 vehicular projects so everything is a freakin' mess right now and has been for the last 5 years or so... I also have to maintain another house and my shop as well as do odd jobs for my GF's sister.

I prefer everything to be neat but it just isn't practical with this much going on...

I have some of that, too, Evan. I sometimes need somebody around to keep me on track to finish one thing before I start something else.

Believe it or not, I am fussier than my wife, and sometimes just get to the point where I have to start pitching things, because she NEVER throws anything away. This is always done when she's not there, and there is always hell to pay when she gets home.
