Congratulations!!! Everyone always told me me high school was harder than college and I have to agree. Northwestern is fairly easy compared to high school, they pushed us so hard in high school. But they say U of Chicago is a killer LOL, people say U of Chicago hurts like Princeton, or CAL TECH, OUCH

Maybe you should go some place cheaper for 2 years and transfer, lots of people are doing that now.

Going to a state university over a private one is a good option as well. There are a lot more scholarships available, and the price is a lot cheaper to begin with.

Something I HIGHLY recommend if you are in engineering or a related field is to enter the co-op program. Not only do you get a break from school and real world experience, you get payed!!

Thats what i am doing. I am going to a community college and then transferring to get my BA. I am saving alot of money. I dont know how it is where you live but here in California you can go to community college pretty cheap if you get financial aid.

I'm already going to a state school and have tuition mostly covered. Housing and whats not covered is going to be around $5k, plus spending money for food, gas ($4.50!!), football tickets, etc... Parents aren't paying a cent, have to get a loan... Shouldn't be that bad IF I can find a job competing against approx 7k other incoming students...

I must be getting old. I graduated high school in 1996. I made it out of college (after some twists and turns and a few years in the Navy) in 2004. If you're going to GaTech, prepare yourself to get very familiar with "The Shaft".

There you go. Share a story.
Met a guy 7 years ago at a HOG event in Charleston SC. Told me he was a CPA and Attorney. Said he had gone to Montclair Univ. (he lived in NJ) for 2 then transferred to Boston College and graduated there. Went to work for PWC in NYC and they put him thru law school. Any employment strings? No strings attached he said. Pretty good deal. His niche was negotiaing employment contracts for US executives working abroad.

From small things momma, big things one day come...
The Boss

Good luck to all you grads.
