This car has been much anticipated for some years, though I think the recent rise in fuel prices may kill it off in a hurry. As for the retro styling, I think it would have been better to go all the way and completely re-create the '67 sheetmetal and do a somewhat updated interior and modern drivetrain.

I wish... My cousin's husband has a Javelin 401 and it kicks butt!

I always liked the products that came out of AMC

Actually knowing GM, they will screw this up. They won't put in the advertising $$ needed to make this car sell and like the 94-96 Impala SS, and the 2004-07 GTO, sales will never reach their full potential. Expect it to be a three year car...

Not too shabby. But I'll take a new Challenger in Plum Crazy.

That new Camaro....the front end looks rather '70's Mustang and the rear quarter beltline seems a combo of Gran Torino SS and Challenger.

I DID have a sneaking admiration for the SSR,but made the mistake of driving one.

Hmmmm...Duramax 4.5L V8! Of course I'd only be one of 13 people in the U.S. interested.

I like the front and side views of this car, but the rear view is a disappointment. It looks out of place with the rest of the car.

I immediately saw the mid 1970's Toyota Celica rear end, somehow.

OMG- your right. I am glad their doing that you can tell someone who designed that car came from a Muscle car background.

I think that thing is ugly! The new Challenger IMO is perfect, but my heart is still with the Mustang.
Here's my supercharged V6.

The front is ok, the side is ok, but the rear needs help. They ought to take some more cues from the rear of a '69 Camaro.... the wider triple tailights, would help it from looking as square as it does now. I would also lower the height of the 1/4 panels, and have the rear window raked a little steeper, giving you a larger trunklid, which would also help with the square rear.

What might be interesting, is if they could stuff a 400CDI motor in there.

Before switching to the Camaro, Mark Donahue won the 1971 Trans Am series in a Javelin for Penske Racing.
