Talking My car is old!

I got a new plate for the rear today! Total tax dodge! My taxes just went from $170 a year to $28!

I still have a totaly illegal Euro plate on the front.

BTW thats not my plate, thats a random Google picture.

Pic link is broken, I think. Did you get Antique plates? In IL we have all sorts of restrictions on where the car can be driven with Antique plates. Bummer, as ours are much cheaper too.

MS has them, and with no limitations at all!! The best part is that you pay the $50 once... you never have to renew your plate ever again. As soon as the TD hits 25 years old it's getting the treatment as well.

FL sucks, The car has to be 30 to qualify for "Antique" plates. They used to have a plate for 20 year old cars, those were the "classic" plates. But they got rid of it. FL has soooo many plates to choose from, I think its around 50 ish

you all know my new plate

slated to show up in like.. 4 weeks ish

I wanted this one

but MCFLY88 wouldn't fit

Yeah FL bores the heck out of me!

This plate is really ment for like muscle cars, it has a freaken Model T on it! But I'm sure my SDL will live because with the tax money I am saving I'm going to drop $100 at the dealer for a new seat net.

Hattie -- what does that seat net look like? It's not a chrome metal frame with black netting, like the early W123's had, is it? If so, I have one (NOS).

Here in MO we have antique plates too, but its too restricted. Only on holidays and weekends, only to an from car shows, parades, that type of stuff...

You can rebuild the plastic nets really easily as long as the plastic frame isnt broken.

What is the alphanumeric sequence you chose, if you can say so without a privacy concern?

Or was it something random that they issued to you.

Gustav has those! Not personalized, and yeah, the idea of "early American" on a German car is laughable. Was part of the reason I said yes when the nice lady at CT DMV said he could have them, actually.

In NJ, it's 25 years for antique plates. With them you are only supposed to use them for education and show display. I think they have a driving limit of 3,000 miles per year.
They begin with the letters QQ. I don't think owners can personalize these plates.
"QQ _ _ _ _ "

The CE is 20 years old this month!
