So, her jaw dropped when I said with cash.

I gave this girl a ride the other day in my 1983 633csi. It's old, but I guess it does not quite look its age. Anyway I work with this girl and I'm always dealing with the fact that she does not want to come in becasue she had too much fun the night before. When she got into the BMW she asked, " how did you buy a car like this?" I said, " with cash". Of course all of her money goes to Saturday night $200 bar bill. LOL

Did that jaw drop include enough room to stick stuff in it?

It's like they say "Don't bother to pay me a complement. Just pay me.". Same thing here. WGAS if her jaw drops if it leads to nothing. Only 2 opinions are important enough to me that I cannot ignore. The guy who signs my paycheck and the woman giving me sex.

That was not my point. The issues is that no one can pay for anything anymore unless it is with that piece of plastic, and they don't pay it off at the end of the month. I buy stuff on credit, but I pay it off...I think of it as using their money for free for 28 days. Then again, not everyone exercises the same logic. This girl that I used to work with has $10,000 cc. debt and spends $350 a month paying her Toyota off.

yep. Thats why I drive my Benz, and am going to get a new transmission for my van. The peeps at work thing I am the dumbest guy in the world for putting a 450 dollar transmission in a 1990 ford, but I figure I've driven for the past 5 years with nothing but small repairs and gas and insurance, and they have spent 20 large in five years just in car payments and not including gas and insurance.

I think that if people looked back at how much they've drank or smoked over their lives and added up all the money they've spent, that they'd be surprised how rich they could have been... Unfortunately, it's the pleasure of the moment most of the time for everyone...

Do I want to live to 100 but give up all my vices that give me pleasure or would I rather 60 with a smile on my corpse. I think I choose the latter. That said, living solely for the moment is bad. There is a mid ground somewhere.

That's true, I should have said "much of the time for many people..."

I brown bag it at work on a daily basis. Good food too. No sandwiches for dinner. Most others make a food run. Get junk food or waste $7-$10 or more on a meal. If they added it up and then looked at what I eat and the cost of that I suspect they would be even more jealous. Yet these same hammer heads are all *****ing about not having enough money.

NH- If everyone exercised the restraint you do credit ratings would be alot higher and people would be sleeping alot better. It's nice to have the title to one's car.

She sounds exactly like our receptionist. She smokes, parties and pisses her money away as fast as it comes in. She is the same age (45) as one of my aunts who works for us (and who lived it up in her youth) and make roughly the same amount of money and both are single. My aunt paid off her mortgage on her first lake-front house and took a second mortgage at less than her first to buy the larger lake-front house next door, strip it and completely update it. All while preparing to retire at 50 (she's actually quite immaterial so she's able to live comfortably with modest means). Our receptionist lives with her parents, goes paycheck to paycheck and puts her two weeks vacation on her CC every year.

I of course look at it as an example of how I could be living it up if I were single, knowing what I make compared to her. (I joke, I joke. )

I prefer a decent breakfast and dinner and a very light meal. I found out by accident that I could buy a slim fast and have it tide me thru the day. You see, people might steal my sandwich or stuff I put in the refrigerator. Small cooler with a can is great for lunch on the run. More convenient too. Also I HATE it when I come to lunch and expect to see my nice lunch with a huge watermelon on top of it? WTF? Does it say "table" on my food?

And trying to kick the habbit of smoking and drinking everyday.
Yes my life sucks, I am trying my darndest to change right now.
