So, I found my self in my 83 500 SL listen to period music Please tell me I'm okay

Maybe it's just becasue finals are over...I don't know. I felt the urge last night to take my 500SL out for a drive which is perfectly healthy and normal of me, but I found the I was particurally drawn to 80s hits such as Robert Palmer's addicted to love, and Simply irresistable, and then various Billy Joel selections. This is not usually not what I listen to, but It was kind of interesting to go back in time twenty years to when I was just a little kid. It's funny how music takes us to a time.

For Mercedes Benz AMG cars of the 1980's, Andreas Vollenweider is period correct music.

Think: "Dancing with the Lion"

For it to be period correct, it would need to be played on a Nakamichi system

I sometimes find myself playing the best of Night Ranger whilst driving the Corvette...

I put a couple of Tower of Power songs on the wife's iPod. There music holds up real well after all these years.

I'm in my forties. I've been listening to Depeche Mode and Crystal Method by the pool while drinking vodka cocktails as of late.

You're only as old as you act... My wife says I look 35. COOL...!

Talking Ah, the Eighties

Pop in a tape of Bonnie Tyler's "Holding Out for a Hero," or Donna Summer's "She Works Hard for the Money," and just try to keep from ramming the pedal to the floor!

Or Chris DeBurgh's "Don't Pay the Ferryman," or the Go-Gos' "We Got the Beat," or the Bangles' "Manic Monday" or "Walk Like An Egyptian" . . .

Maybe the Eighties weren't too bad after all!

Your normal (I think). I drove to work while listening to Piano Man by Billy Joel.

I also listen to Phil Collins. SirNik84, another member here, always gives me **** because when its winter, I wear my leather jacket that looks like its from the 80s. Combine that with the fact that when I am wearing the jacket, I pop the collar up on my polo, it makes me look like I am from the 80s....

Ahh, the good times.

Jim, as much as I liked my Nakamichi stuff when it was in my car, I like the convenience of having my iPod hooked up.....

Then I can have all Billy Joel albums on tap!

Lately the muzac at work has been 80's stuff.. A lot of top of the charts stuff... I kinda like it. Driving an 80's car, listening to period music, and acting like a fool.

People tell me I look like a just stepped out of the 80s sometimes; I'm not sure if I should take it as a compliment.

This photo is a prime examplel...

Yeah, I get into those moods once in a while. Usually I lead off my '80's set with "Message of Love" by The Pretenders http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wt6_fuVo0W0 and try to throw Romeo Void's "Never Say Never" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icibDDQi4EU somewhere into the mix.

To REALLY fit the '80's part, you need a pink IZOD golf shirt, straight leg levi's and Docksiders. Your glasses are fine...
