Barrack: Thanks, But No Thanks

Obama Campaign Forgoes Public Campaign Financing

Sen. Barack Obama's decision to forgo public financing for his presidential campaign clears the way for him to outspend Sen. John McCain by 3-to-1 or substantially more in the general election, a financial edge that dramatically rewrites the playbooks for both candidates.

If A-B brewing gets sold to the European company, then Cindy could write some pretty big checks, no?

I believe that's called the McCain-Feingold bill.

I'm changing my position on Obama. Anybody who tries to win the Presidency obviously should not be voted for. I would've supported Romney, but he spent money trying to get elected too.

Swift boaters don't have spending limits. It's going to be a free for all no matter what.

You can always count on the Dems to do whatever it takes to get what they want - the ends justify their means. You can also always count on the Repubs to stick more to their principles regardless of cost. Barrack is out to win, and he knows that McCain will stick to the public funds - it's a dirty trick to win an election, and a smart move by Barrack.

I hope Barrack gets slammed in the General; I certainly don't want to pay the taxes he's asking for, and I certainly don't want to pull out of Iraq regardless of the cost. The Repubs are spend-crazy *********s, but at least they aren't jamming the crap out of the tax rate - Barrack will.

That is a bunch of crap.... unless their principles are to spend money without the taxes to support it, reduce our civil liberties, etc, etc. I'm not saying the dems are innocent, but to say the republicans are honorable is just nuts. Our current administration has sure stuck to republican ideals eh?

How do national bills get paid except by taxes? Are you suggesting that just adding to the deficit is a good idea?

I predict that now that the oil companies are setting up shop in Iraq, we will not leave the region until there is no more oil. No matter which pandering dolt gets elected....

I want a new Mercedes. Would you please arrange financing for me so I don't have to pay the money back in my lifetime? I surely don't want to pay for it, but I really do want one regardless of the cost or debt responsibility.

2008: I supported campaign finance limits before I decided against it.

2004: I voted for the resolution before I voted against it!

Change you can believe in?

Pffttt!

She and the kids hold shares of AB, as does her father, the founder of the 3rd largest AB distributorship in the US.
