Question W123 Headlight Windows

I ordered a new set of Bosch headlight windows with the intent of paint matching the louvered insides with the grill. The Bosch set I received have the louvered inside pieces and outer protective pieces glued together. Even if I send them back, I'll still need a set without the two pieces glued together. I'd like to trade my new pair for a nice used set without the two separate pieces glued together and without cracks/dings. I also have an original Becker radio in good condition, offers? Swap your two-piece headlight windows for the Becker??? PM-

here this is what you do ok. Alot of people who will retrofit their headlights have to use this technique. take the part and stick in in the oven at a low temp and keep it in there until the glue gets tacky and you can take it apart. You can also use a heat gun and get the same effect. To put back together you just do the same heat up and put back. I have done it before to make a projector retrofit on a altima but the same technique can be used here.

Uhhh... As suggested I kept the oven at low temps. I watched the window closely and the glue did NOT become tacky and when I thought the window was warm enough to separate, it did NOT separate but the plastic windows were warm enough to distort their shape and ruin a brand new window. Now I have a $60 warped window that I couldn't re-shape and another brand new one that's now useless. If anyone searches this thread for future reference, advice given freely is one thing but advice followed is quite another.

Well sorry about that one I know it works because I have done it multiple times. Well sorry that it ruined it. Maybe they are a little thinner than most head lights. And once again very sorry for this mistake.
