E 85

I am looking for any information on an E 85 conversion for my 2000 ML 320. There are systems out there that convert the injector impulse to a longer time by using the factory electronics and still maintaining the standard emission systems including lambda control of fuel trim. It seems to me that because the system is capable of at least 30% long term correction on its own that a re-flash of the engine ECU to lengthen the pulse time across the whole range would be easily possible. The plastic fuel tank would pose no corrosion problem and I think the fuel rail is stainless. So the fuel pump, injectors, and maybe the exhaust system could become prone to failure. There is research going on with E 20 and E 30 that suggest they may be a simple alternative and not cause a mileage decrease as well. I suspect with gas headed to $5.00 that we will hear about alternatives more and more. Any information or links would be useful. Thanks
