Have the pads been checked for glazing? I have had more than one case where glazed pads resulted in almost no brakes. I hit them with a file and small belt sander. Massive improvements.

Although the problem of glazing on those same pads came back eventually. Since I did not drive the cars that hard. I think there was some form of manufacturing deficiency in the pad material.

Wear a good dust mask. Doing one wheels pads first would indicate if it cures the problem. Sad to change the calipers out without even attempting that first.

I would also want to see the master cylinders piston rod fairly high on the pedal arm. With a booster this is not as important.

Well I have new pads, hopefully they will be a nice soft street compound. I also received yesterday a set of new willwood calipers. I am hoping I'll have to return them.

Also finished up my tax forms today. I'll check them over once more tomorrow before turning them over to my CPA.

It appears I have the smaller vacation rental home sold. I have tentatively decided to buy a smaller condo with a smaller mortgage after the sale of the house.

As long as they don't squeak and stop well you're good to go .

In 1979 L.A.P.D. bought a new fleet of Crown Victoria (Panther chassis) cop cars and they came with tiny brakes that chewed up the pads by 30,000 miles ("A check") and often the rotors too ~ we had to replace the calipers on evry single one and the fleet was pretty big at that time .

If your cars stops well the first few stops maybe all it needs is vented / drilled rotors ? .

Okey - doke ~

If the new pads make it stop well you're good to go, if not find out the caliper application and begin researching what larger calipers will bolt to the current spindle. ...

Hot Rodding used to be just this : trial and error. talking to others who've gone down the same garden path .

I have already spent hours trying to find softer pads, and looking for bolt on calipers so I can get any pad I wish, such as metric pads. I even ordered and have on hand four willwood calipers which take the gm pads which i ordered before I found these pads. Unfortunately they are not bolt on and will require adapter brackets to work on my car.

So I hope the pads work and I can send back the beautiful but expensive willwood calipers.

I wrote this sentence over in a post on the Cobra forum and liked it so much I brought it over here:

If I were a car I would be a rat rod as all the important stuff has been repaired whenever it fails but I still look 70 on the outside.

Closed on the sale of two houses last week. Closed today on a small co op (like a condo) this week which is paid for with no mortgage so it will weather a recession better.

The last few months I have been having tinnitus. I suspect the loud cobra exhaust of triggering it so that is being prepared for sale. I have currently a set of hearing aids on loan which are supposed to mask the tinnitus but seem to be just about the same. I suspect I will not buy any aids at present until things get worse.s

I got new lenses yesterday in my glasses to make the final for now adjustment to the Cataract surgery. They are working well. In fact now I can read Doonesbury again without using a magnifying glass.

Post Aging Out

Hearing aids won't help the tinnitus .

I've been suffering it since about 1964, I hate it .

Low volume back ground noise (I use news radio) works wonders for getting to sleep .

I used to have a Chiropractor who had a wonderful white noise machine, I oughta get one of those as it can be very relaxing .

New glasses are a treat ~ I picked up mine yesterday afternoon .

I just read about the worse tenant landlord situation in my province. The tenant keeps getting higher courts or appeals one after the other for hearings. This quashes the eviction notices until the new hearing dates. Where the eviction notice is restored. He then has by the new eviction note date applied for yet another hearing.

The landlord states the judiciary system is being used in a criminal fashion. The tenant does not even appear at the hearings. The landlord had the rental cleared out with one eviction date. Only for the tenant to show up with a new court hearing date. The police enforced the replacement of the homes contents. By breaking in a basement window to gain access for him.

I dealt with the landlord tenant board in this province and they were bad enough. Personally I think a total intentional fraud is underway. It was a one year lease and all the post dated cheques are on an empty bank account. I also suspect this landlord is far from over this situation yet.

Since this started other landlords have come forward that had similar experiences with this tenant. . The landlord tenant board bars landlords from using the legal system. So how can the legal system be enacted by a tenant.?

What I am thinking is the judicuary system is in some way blocking the possibility of fraud charges by the police? Will the landlord have to engage heavy legal costs yet? Now that his issue has reached public consumption. It is hopeful some authority may act properly. I also question the police breaking a basement window without a legal order. The tenant and the possessions where out. Before the landlord was informed with a new court hearing date by the tenant. The legal at the time eviction order had been completed. Around here now the landlords have a list. It may be illegal but if a name gets on it you do not rent to them. The landlord tenant board in this province was the primary reason I got out of the rental market. It stopped my right to any form of legal recovery. Plus to me acted always in the tenants interest. When there was absolutely no way I was at fault.

You realize you own the landlord back rent. We will not force you but can you pay ten dollars a month? I had to sit there and listen to this garbage. You are blocked against getting any form of lien as well. By this time typically thousands of dollars are due. When you apply to the board of course they are busy and you get a hearing sometime in a few months.
