This car has my attention, looking for thoughts/opinions, Thanks

Vague reference to an electrical issue that prevents starting engine.

much more investigation is required. that "electrical issue" could be something major and cost quite a bit to fix or replace whatever is broken.

blue book value is somewhere between $19,800 - $23,300

There are 4 Benz dealers within 25 miles of that place that could diagnose that "electrical issue", so why haven't they taken it to any of them? I know exactly where that place is. If you'd rather spend $18G's on a running car, I'll take $18Gs for my 126.

You'd want the full SDS scan for all systems before touching that car. Could be something silly easy or multiple big dollar components.

I would be weary. It could be something as simple as the ignition not being able to code the key, a bad key, neutral safety switch...... Or it could be as big as the Drive Authorization System is bad, and not letting the car start....

If the car doesn't run, you should.

I would suspect the dealer knows what is wrong. Most likely they have run it by a qualified mech and figured out they were not going to put that much into that CL and be backwards in it. If it was a cheap fix they would have done it. Run away.

Yeah that could be an expensive problem. Does it even crank? If it cranks and dies out that could point to a DAS issue either with ME or EIS. I priced an ME the other day for an 02 S430- It was $2500 plus just for the part. Be prepared to dump some money into it if you really want it.

I second the suggestion to see the list of fault codes.
