Man, this just keeps getting worse.

It's getting harder to be a happy car enthusiast now a days...

Ferrari making a hybrid? Does that not kill the fun of the company! Roaring V-12 revving to insane RPMs...

Now Mercedes wants to be all turbo by 2010. What about the raw N/A powered cars.

This just plain sucks... all the fun stuff is going away.

I can never be enthusiastic about a stupid hybrid car, just another appliance to me.

Auuggh, wish I was 40 already enjoying a nice SL, other AMG, or some Ferrari.... by the time I get there now, its just going to be a bunch of turbo charged straight 4s and electric motors... this sucks

I think I saw that the Ferrari "hybrid" uses a flywheel to store braking energy. They developed the system for a new hybrid F1 racing league.

If the good carmakers are smart, they'll offset some of the power losses with lighter weight vehicles. I wouldn't mind a 1-series with a standard six if the damn thing weighed 1000lbs less.

Saw that MB is offering a GL350 and an R350 for 2009...sign of the times! :rolleyes:

If anything the trend is more toward higher-performance engines rather than higher-mileage engines. I'd like to see more emphasis on mileage.

If they'd just make the cars lighter, they'd have more performance AND better mileage.
