Thats surprising, around here our public schools throw a fit if they find a West Haven kid attainding. Rightfully so I might add. They have crappy schools so their parents try to sneak them into our good schools.

I can only imagin the uproar if an illegal was enrolled. The local tax payers are already pissed off about the budget increases, something like that if the school let it go would likely lead to a tax payer revolt! Heads were rolling trying to get the last school budget passed.

So how do you explain the higher rankings of the other countries which tend to be more liberal than the US?

Well, it is a little frustrating, that is why we care, but you still don't get the critical thought. Don't worry about it--you'll be culled from the herd.

And just how would they determine the immigration status of the people involved. Schools are prohibited by law from asking for immigration papers. Pretence is made of due process by asking for several months utilitiy bills in the name of a parent or guardian, shot records - not necessarily US ones, and so forth. In a part of the country where over 50 percent of the inhabittants are foreigners and as I stated before in some schools, over 90 percent it's meaningless to talk of what the local taxpayers think. Most of the parents can't vote so there is nobody to revolt. The few left over citizens are pissed off any some speak out, but as the demographics are already overwhelmingly foreign their voices are meaningless.

Referring to the original topic. In this environment where you are already essentially a foreign country educating a foreign populace of third world peasants who are english-illiterate pretending that you are part of the American public school system is meaningless.

Fact of the matter is, American society has more and more developed functionality that is based on the principles of excuses.

Whenever something doesn't work the way it should, blame it on someone other than your/themselves.

It's a painful overtone throughout this sociopolitical system and, unfortunately, it will come back at us.

There it goes again. It's the "3rd worlders" now, who are on top of it, deliberately ignorant.

Don't forget, the 3.World was created by the 1.World, in every aspect of the matter.

How about the ever so failing administrative system througout the educational sector in tis "so-called" 1.World ?

1. See B's reply.

2. I agree, but only to a point. I need more convincing.

3. SPOT ON !! ... and isn't public education largely the domain of Democrats nationally? "Failing" is too mild a rebuke, imo.

It seems that you still don't understand what I was saying. I understood Paul's comment perfectly. He's saying no one can perform below the lowest level. Well, that depends on the definition of level, doesn't it? It could be level as in the lowest test score in a group (in which case I'd agree with Paul), or level as in grade, meaning those scoring below the lowest level got an F, which is what I had in mind.

Lowest. That's like you know, the lowest.

There is no beneath under lowest.

You got your basic hierarchy of low.

It begins with the word, "low" and proceeds through "lower" for an awfully long time until finally coming to an abrupt and unyielding "lowest".

So you don't get it either? You've never played a video game with levels? Or how about the geography test that was posted here recently that had levels? That's what I meant by "level" and I think that's what the article is talking about. I don't know how to explain that any more clearly. I almost feel like I'm talking to a bunch of 3-year-olds here.

More properly, "25% scored near the lowest level."
