New job!

Non-Perishable Manager at S&S Supermarkets. Not sure where I am being placed yet, but 10 weeks training at a local place. Good pay, awesome benefits, and very steady. People may not need mcmansions, fancy cars, or other luxury items, but everyone needs food.

After six years with the company I am now my boss's boss. The store I am training in includes a manager I worked for in the past who was a jerk. He now reports to me....I will need to restrain myself from being a big ********* to him.

And the best...full tuition reimbursement for an accelerated MBA program. Doesn't matter where.

Finally making real money, yay.

Good deal, Kyle! I applaud you for your restraint.

OTOH there are ways of making things unpleasant for him while staying within company policies.

Congratulations! Hey six years is not bad, especially if you are young! Add another six years to that and who knows?

Do play nice in the sandbox, and don't be smug about being your former boss' boss. You've clearly done your best and moved up. Do, however, try to accomodate your direct reports and others on your team as best as you can. Your next promotion will be a result of how well you manage your team. Good luck!

Heh

Thanks guys. I see a W208 CLK 430 in my future, Black or Silver

Suprisingly cheap!

But its not something I was super enthusiastic about doing, but it grew on me. Add time in the company, good benefits, and many good contacts, I figured I'd be my best bet to stay where I am and with what I know until something better comes along.

READ THE HANDBOOK AND KNOW THE RULES. Once you do, you can go within them to make his life a living hell.

I honestly envy you. Too rare is it in life that we get to make those who pissed us off pay for it.

For those of us who don't live in New England, S&S stands for Stop & Shop Supermarket, right?

It may be an interesting form of payback to treat him normally and for you to continue to advance. Live your revenge rather than seek it.

One of the things about plotting revenge is it turns you into a really ugly person. Better to spend time plotting your 401k.
