I have a Minolta Maxxum 7000 with a 35-105 AF lens on it...haven't used it in eyars, I presume all it needs is new batteries.

I would think they would be abundantly available nowadays considering the fact that everyone is using digital cameras now. There used to be a magazine called Shutterbug that was basically a collection of camera ads. I think it's actually published in Florida. You can look in one of those to get an idea of what a fair price might be.

That is one fine camera. I had camera-envy for years when a friend bought one. I miss SLR's!

I just pulled out my Asahi Pentax! Good timing. It's not for sale, but in its day it was a great SLR.

A historical note.
Although the Pentax used the M42 screw mount for its lens mount, it was not invented by them. It was invented by Pentacon an (East) German firm, a company with several "firsts", but largely unknown, in the West.
Pentax built very fine SLRs, silky smooth in operation

Just as there's nostalgia for old MG and Triumphs . . . the Pentax, whether Asahi or Honeywell, Spotmatic, SPII or the like, it was a tin can with a rubber cloth shutter and lenses that seemed well suited for growing mold cultures.

On the other hand, the Nikon F was the swiss army knife of SLRs. Different viewfinders, 100% frame viewing screens, weighted light metering, film backs, motordrives . . . and the ability to develop your upper torso muscles while lugging it around.

Or drive the occasional nail, if need be.

Still have an old F1 Photomic with the meter prism, build quality and operation superior to my Leica M3,which seems like a rattly toy.

I have couple of bodies of Minolta SLRs, all pro series. The 9000AF, 9xi and 9 with assortment of lenses. Since slide development is getting harder these days and I don't use or like the digital format, I am retiring from photography period and therefore all my equipment is up for grabs.
