What say you?

Okay, somebody E Mailed this to me this morning. Their political bent is Republican.

What do you think of these comments? I don't know whether tese comments are true or not. I find some of them hard to believe. What do you think?

INTERESTING DATA ON TAXES

This is something we should be aware of so we don't get blind-sided. This is really going to catch a lot of families off guard.

Proposed changes in taxes after 2008 General election:

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples) McCain does not
propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales
How does this affect you?

If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes.

If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN 15% (no change)

OBAMA 39.6%
How will this affect you?

If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds,
college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays
or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money
earned on taxes if Obama become president.

The experts predict that 'higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains
would crash the stock market yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN (no changes)
Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA
(reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)
Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750

Under Obama your taxes will more than double!
How does this affect you? No explanation needed. This is pretty straight forward.

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax
How does this affect you? In the past, many families lost businesses, farms and ranches, and homes that were in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax.

Those willing their assets to loved ones will not only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA

* New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than
2400 square feet

* New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already)

* New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)

* New taxes on retirement accounts and last but not least....

* New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same
level of medical care as third-world countries!!!

Well, in all fairness he'll have some pretty big bills to pay that were left by his predecessor. Taxation anything like this would really do the economy in.

Obama says he wants to increase taxes for successful responsible people that went to college and risked everything they owned to start their own businesses and were possibly successful. Yea... that sounds fair! Steal money from the people that actually worked hard for it, and lessen taxes for people that don't want to work hard for it. NOT!

Hey, if you don't want to go to college and work hard at a job, or risk everything and start your own buiseness and make alot of money, so be it... these hard working smart people shouldn't be punished by be taxed at a higher rate. Being responsible should be rewarded not punished.
Liberal thinking SUCKS!

neither candidate has said much about controlling spending. It's the only way out.

The truth is seldom very palatable in political contests. The right solutions to problems don't make for very good sound bites.

When I read this, I assumed it was not accurate, but had not actually taken the time to research it.

Try Mexico. They have quite a few vacancies left by those who can jump, run or swim across the border.

Austrailia, New Zealand come to mind...

Bahamas is a good bet. Stable government, TAX FREE living in the Freeport on Grand Bahama island, Legal resident status if you buy property and it is only 50 miles from the USA (most people take their boat or the ferry to go to COSTCO in Ft Lauderale) in case the poop hits the air distributor

Ugh!

Comcast has been imposing a 250GB monthly cap on their residential service for the last 4 years...

Great!

Now they will start lowering that cap and charge us more for less!

My Atlanta water bill is estimated to go up 16% a quarter?
I have to pay $3.00 just to take a crap soon?

Now that gas prices are $4 I can't drive nearly as much as I used to, so I stay at home more... I don't have a tv subscription to save money and just stream news and watch my shows from abc.com and nbc.com. Now they are taking that away from me... won't be able to play any of my PC games over the internet now either!?

All the things that I get my fun from are being stripped away one by one...

Whats next? Charging me for the air I breathe?
