Buying A Truck 1995 Ford F250

Hi,
I am looking at buying a 1995 Ford F250 XLT with a plow. The truck is in nice condition with 105,000 miles on it,runs great and has no major problems. It has a little bit of rust around the bed and the air conditioning blows warm. The plow is in excellent condition.I am going to be using this truck as a plow truck in Connecticut and for some run around use.How are these trucks and what is a good price for it.

I think that 1995 was a good year for Ford. My dad has a 95' F-150 that has had almost zero problems since new. I would not hesitate to buy a low or high mileage F150 made in 1995 especially if it had a 4.9L I-6.

The truck itself would probably be in the $4K +/- range around here (lower side depending on rust) if it's a gasser and throw in a grand for the plow no matter how new the plow is.

If it's 4x4 it's probably got the 351 which is a good stout engine. My 90' F350 crew cab never gave me any problems, although the 460 was a bit piggish on fuel, and I worked the hell out of it.

I just paid $7K for a '94 F250.
But its a 4X4 DIESEL, with extended cab, and its very clean. The Previous Owner just dropped $3500 in rebuilding the E4OD tranny, and $1500 on Alloy Wheels and new tires. Also rebuilt the hubs, and driveshafts.
The $7K figure seems a bit high, but with all the recent work, I felt it was a good deal for me.

This one has newer tires and newer exhaust, but it has a slight leak. The rust isnt major, but it was just worth mentioning. The plow was just refurbished and looks brand new.It is also properly mounted. The interior is in very nice shape and is nice and clean. The exterior paint is nice as well. The rust is at that one spot only.

That's not bad for a clean diesel club with new and rebuilt pieces parts.

I've rarely seen a Ford without some fender rust, although they do exist. Somewhere. With my F350 I just cut the rust out completely and intalled some Bushwhacker cut-out flares, I could run 35's with no lift kit, and didn't have to do any bodywork.

I was just about to ask that question,I know its a V8.The truck is a Ford F250 XLT Regular Cab with 4X4.Anyone know what engine it is and the kind of gas mileage it will give. The rust doesnt really bother me at all,the one I have at Connecticut there right now is a blue F250 like this one and it is rusted badly. The truck is going to be used as a plow truck and for other little things,so as long as it is good mechanically,it is fine. All the other ones I have seen are higher mileage, bad paint and very beat-up.This truck seems like it has been taken care of properly.

It could be a 302, 351w or 351c or 460. Even the 300 I-6 was used in F-250's.

I remember my dad's old 1994 f-350 saying 5.8L on the intake manifold. My crown vic had a 5.0, but I don't think it had an emblem on it.

Mine was about 8/12 when empty (I did actually get close to 14 on longer highway trips with the cruise set at 63). If that one is a 460 it'd probably still be in that range, maybe 9/13. The smaller engines probably 13/17. If you keep your foot out of it the mileage is considerably better.

Yeah, the 351 was a very common engine in F250s of that era.
