Any NFL fans out there?

Very happy the season started. I enjoy football more than any other sport.

There is a certain camraderie brought about by getting together with friends over some beer and some grilling action.

We went to the Dolphins game yesterday and although they lost, a great time for all involved.

It may be a long year for the Fins' but we are moving in the right direction at last.

Anyone else go to any games this weekend?

Yup, 16 year Patriots season ticket holder. A bittersweet start to the season would be an understatement. Definitely not a dirty play, though. The tailgating is usually secondary to the game but it may take on more importance as this season progresses. Be kind, I'm trying to stay positive. It's all Belichick's fault for taking Tom off the Injured List for the first time in 4+ years.

Chad did pretty well yesterday (forgive me) even though he doesn't have a lot to work with. He doesn't have the strongest arm but he's a smart QB. He came within a Hail Mary of winning a game they shouldn't have.

The AFCE is up for grabs now. Buffalo was pretty impressive in their debut.

I was happy to see the Steelers do well against the Texans yesterday. They seem to have a great balanced attack on offense, and the O-line (which is the weakest link) did the job against Mario Williams.. so that's good. Our defense looked very good, and our pass rush was finally getting to a quarterback (though the Texans seem more than willing to give up sacks).

Though I'm not a Pats fan, and I generally don't like Tom Brady, it's never good to see such a critical element go down so fast. Some jackass fans want to win at all costs, but I'd rather beat the best on the way to a championship... ala a few years ago! So, hopefully Brady's knee isn't too bad and he can return this year. From the hype, however- it's not looking good.

Bills did look good- Browns, not so much. Ravens and Falcons look like they might have found QBs. And captain cocky Phil Rivers got beat, so that's good too.

I try to have folks over for the games when they are televised, but it's hard to get the Steelers on TV up here. DirecTV is an option, but I've got internet and phone through comcast, so we just keep the HD cable. The NFL would sell so many more Sunday Ticket subscriptions if they'd open it up to cable too. Dummies.

Long year shaping up for St. Louis fans.
The Rams looked horrible against the Eagles.
Cowboys/Eagles next Monday should be interesting.

Yeah, I really like football.
I've been a Giants fan since I was a teenager.
Spent a lot of bad years being dominated by Washington in that division before coming into their own.
Bill Parcells did a great job coaching and recruiting talent.

It will be interesting to see how they do this year. Dallas & Philedelphia will be the teams to beat.

Minnesota & Green Bay should be a good game tonight.

Interesting start to the season. I think the press is hyping up the Jets and Farve. Although the Dolphins look improved, I think they need a few more years. Buffalo might be the sleeper. I think they had the team talent last year, but their QB went down (vs New England).
I think its between Philly and Dallas in the NFC. Probably Pittsburg, San Diego and Colts, even though they look crappy yesterday.

I think the biggest surprise for me is how bad Cincinnati played and how good Arizona and Buffalo played.

I expected Arizona and Buffalo to be better than last year, but they blew me away.

Looks like Dallas, Pittsburgh, and the Giants are gonna roll right into the playoffs.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Darren McFadden play today. He was drafted by the Raiders out of Arkansas.

They're saying he's the best running back they've seen since Marcus Allen.

That's a nice parking lot and stadium. I went to a Marlins game there in Aug. while on an urban fishing tour with two of my brothers this July. My brother, who hails from those parts these days, was one of the faithful who sat through the Dolphins-Steelers game that was played into the start of a Hurricane a few years back if you recall it.
Oh, and go Steelers.
