My friend just bought a new toy...

Don't know all the details yet, but its a Colt AR15. He is paying about $1,700 for it. I think were going shooting this weekend.

He needs the grenade launcher next.

Not sure what sight he is going to put on it, maybe a red dot. Probably iron for now since a good sight is all of $300.

Did Colt stop making them for civilian sale? Thats what he says, supposidly this was the last new one the gun store had. He was going to get a Bushmaster for a G note, but the Colt is built better.

I tried to talk him into an M14 EBR. One of the guys who sat next to me in German class was in Iraq for two tours and said he switched to the 14 first chance he got. He said the 7.62 drops them faster at longer ranges and they are more tolarant of the very fine sand that gets everywhere.

See the EBR looks much more badass. And has a bigger punch.

When I get my assault rifle I'm getting an AK, or M14. When I make some money maybe a G36 or P90. Well not the crappy long barrel P90's, I'd have to cough up for a class 3 good one.

Not any more. 7.62x39 ammo was getting expensive and scarce last time I bought any. That was a few months ago, and I stocked up at 5.99 or 6.99 a box. The only other place that had it wanted 12. Unfortunately, now I'm getting low and will have to stock up again in the near future.

5.56 seems to go for about .40-.45 cents a round.
