The financial fallout hits home

I just checked my tria/creff account and discovered that I lost a little over $2000 .00 in 2 days. I will contact them tommorrow and have it pulled before anymore $ disapears. This is a retirement fund that is largely based on tria investing my $ in stocks &bonds. There have been ups and downs over the years to be sure, but never this high of a loss in this short a period of time. People_check your investments to make sure you are not taking a hit for the "Team"

My accounting prof said he lost 10%, which bumped him out of "millionaire" status.

I guess in the future he will diversify a bit more!

He'll be back to being a millionaire soon enough.

Sell high, not low!

Yep, fortune are being made now. Now is the time to buy, look at the last quote in my sig!

While Mayer Amschel Rothschild did mean it in quite a literal sense, today you probably could say that a lot of financial blood is running. I don't think we have had any jumpers yet so no actual blood.

I had some gold options that I sold today as panic hit the gold market and it had a $100 range today. I didn't make a ton of money, maybe enough to take a nice vacation.

Is it a retirement fund or a car fund?

Like yesterday, today's going to be a big day in the market.
If you dumped Wed. and ran to cash, you may have missed two of the biggest gain days in market history.
Whatcha think of them apples?

I always think its a good time to buy, lots of good companies are getting caught up in this.

http://finance.google.com/finance?q=NYSE:TM

I wouldn't have any heart burn buying Toyota stock for example, or GE...

http://finance.google.com/finance?q=GE&hl=en

Wednesday at lunchtime if you bought 1k shares of each you could have made a tidy profit by today.

Yeah. I have a -18.5% "return" on my money this year in my 401k. That dosen't really amount to too much as I have only had it 2 years and I am only 24.

My energy fund is only down 1.85% YTD. That'll prolly change when Obama taxes energy companies.

As someone once said, "It's time IN the market, not TIMING the market that leads to success in investing."
