House Progress, Sink Instsalled

Some of you have been reading the posts I've made regarding my remodel. The latest battle was getting a sink that fit the granite I picked up for my bathroom. and some of you asked to see the finished product. well here it is.

Bathroom before remodel.

OK so its almost Finished... I have to paint the doors to the cabinet. and paint and install the cabinet that goes over the toilet.

Are you going to change out the ring towel holder? It seems to look out of place with the rest of the remodel. JMO. The bathroom looks really good. 100% better than what you started out with.

there are more chrome bits that match the ring that are going to get installed. I wanted to get everything to match the light fixture. but my budget is up and the chrome towel rack, TP holder and other stuff was in a bathroom dress up kit with the faucet for 40 bucks. so its all chrome now.

Nice work, Nick. I think there's been more progress at YOUR house than at the House of Representatives so far.

Damn man.

I go off to school, and you make tons of progress.

maybe if they spent some of that budget of theirs on Red Bull and couldn't take a shower til the job was done, they would get things done faster.

Dee8go 09-26-2008 01:36 PM

Is that your secret to fast remodeling, Nick?

SirNik84 09-26-2008 01:49 PM

the red bull for sure! I work 8-5 and then work on the house 5:30-1am normally.

the no shower was just a little extra bonus of this last week. because I'm having the hard wood refinished, so I'm cut off from the other bathroom. so getting the bathroom shown finished was a very big deal in my world.

Nice job Nik! I like the new flooring much better than the old stuff. I have the same faucet in my bathroom. The granite looks like it was worth the extra running around you ended up doing.

SirNik84 09-26-2008 02:54 PM

The old flooring was Horrible, all the way to the end. It ran all the way to through the hall. and in places it came up fine, and in other placed it just ripped in half leaving paper all over the floor. so i had to use my grinder and a abrasive pad and grind the concrete clean. the concrete under it was in great shape and flat, so the tile went down easy, but that linoleum was BAD.

Great job Nick! Bathroom remodels are always daunting, but you pulled it off quite nicely. The tile work is fantastic!

When you are done with the rest of the major work, consider painting the walls in nice "faux" finish! :D

Faucet and towel rack hardware can be switched out whenever...choose after you get the cabinets done. The white switchplate against the almond outlet and light switch looks odd though. Get a wood switchplate that matches the cabinets and the light fixture base.

Consider getting a framed mirror too. It isn't expensive, and will greatly enhance the look of your bathroom.
