Picking stocks
I say its a good time to buy stocks. On a good friends advice I bought some freddiemac and fanniemae and they are doing well. Does anyone know of a program that lists stocks that have taken a huge dive in the last year. The 52 week high for fannie and freddi is almost $70 buying at .50 seems like a good deal to me.

I might be a good deal, but a cheap price does not always equal a good value. As long as you do your reseach very carefully, it is probably a great time to be a buyer. This is usually when the value investors are busiest.

There have been some bargain basement prices in the last 30 days. Bought some UAUA for $3, some CAL for $8, OSK is a steal right now. BDCO is one of two gulf pipelines that didn't get damaged easy double on short - mid hold.

I talked to an investor today and he said that WAMU shares will most likely convert to JP Morgan shares after the deal is complete.

Ever hear of a reverse split? I had some Erickson stock once upon a time, everal thousand shares. I ended up with several hundred. I don't think I lost any money when all was said and done, but I had to hold it for a long time.

I'm all over Fannie and Freddie and have been in and out all week which may have been my biggest week in the stock market, started out with a $1000 hail mary and ended up with healthy chuck of change. If I wasn't married I'd be proposing to Fannie. My original thought was wtf I don't care if I lose it and if Fannie pulls through (which they will) it will be a hellicious chunk of change in 10 years. With good management and a slight uptick in RE values FRE and FNM will be rocking again.
Wamu OTOH, reminds me of Tyco, MCI and CW. |

I was thinking the same way. A complete brake job on your car can cost $1000. This has the potential to actually earn money
