THE WORLD SERIES.....Playoffs

Yeahhhhhhhhh hoooooooo The Dodgers won last night. Angels would have won if Guerrero(sp) hadn't pulled that stupid base stealing stunt in the 7th. Oh well more games tonight.

How could anyone root against the poor haven't-won-in-100-years Cubbies? That would almost take a Yankee fan to do that.... But then a Yankee fan would have to root for Soriano over Manny, right? I'm so confused....

I thought the A's lead off with two strike outs in their next at bat? That means the outcome would have been the same, no? (sorry M, I was pullin' hard for Bahston--I used to spend a lot of time there, and the A's seem to have an identity crisis)

Gotcha -- thanks for the explanation. That actually makes complete sense to me.

For my part, Go Cubbies!

I'm actually conflicted there. I'm not a fan of any team but the Sawx but I've always had tremendous respect for Torre for they way he handled himself and the Evil Empire's clubhouse. I thought he got screwed over and would like to see nothing more than that symbolic knife into Steinbrenner's heart. OTOH I want no post-season success to come to Manny, suddenly Mr. Hustle.

I am a Yankees fan and I want to see a Cubs-White Sox World Series, just to see Lou Piniella and Ozzie Guillan go after it. That would be a show. I would also like to see Ken Griffey, Jr., get a World Series ring.

Point of order.

I do not follow any sports so forgive my ignorance but why is it called the world series when only North America plays? Did I miss the Germans or Kiwis playing? Just currious. Bring it on. I'm ready for you.

And when it comes to Baseball (yes, it's capitalized) we still are.
Another Yankees die hard here. I'm pulling for a Dodgers-White Sox WS.

I kinda do too. They are my favorite NL team and have a lot of history and tradition. Plus, although I love the Yankees, Steinbrenner needs kicked in the yo-yos occasionally.
