Thinking of selling my 1884 245ti and buying a 1994 945 ti

The neighbour wants my 84 and I have a lead onf a 94 945 with a bout 70k less miles then the 84. I think it is a win win situation, other then giving up the manual transmission. This is the last of the real Volvos other then th e960. So tempting, but I kind of want to just keep the 84 and buy the 94. Hmm.

Holy crap! I didn't know they even made them in 1884! lol

I would go for the 1994 945. I drove a new '95 944 at the dealer when they were still new there, and loved it. Liked the looks, the turbo, they are a great car.

The Volvo sales guy did tell me you had to let the turbo cool down before you put the car away if you had been really getting on it just before.

That surprised me

But I like the "real" Volvos, the rear wheel drivers. Last real Volvos so far as I am concerned. The quality was still there even that late

Bought it

It needs to be tuned up, will probably do, front seals and a timeing belt. It's not too bad of a job, but I see a little oil in the front of the motor. Pictures to come. It's nice, I'm debating weather, I'm going to give my red 92 745 my mom and keep the 940 or give her the 940. In truth, the 745 is a little more pristine body and interior wise, but it does have 30k more miles. I have a little time to think about it, but I will feel good having my mom drive a Volvo in the crazy driving that we have to deal with no matter which one.

Congrats. I don't think you would regret this. They are really really good cars.

hurry up with the pictures of your new car you promised. heeeeeeee

Yeah, I think you are right. I noticed they improved a couple of things on the 940. One is that it has the squirter block, which should make the engene last longer. Also the rear head restraints go down automatically instead of having to remove them like I do in the 740 to fold down the rear seat. The glove box is smaller becasue of the passenger side airbag though, and the arial is in the rear window instead of being power operated which is kind of strange.
