5 Star Shine....

Watch the video.

Any thoughts? My concern would be the exact opposite of what they are promoting -- Would this actually DAMAGE my paint. Also $97 for the kit seems very expensive too. I have no intention to buy it...just interested what you guys think of it. I don't know the ins and outs of waxing.

PTFE applied with an "Abrasive"

"In the process described in the above U.S. patent, a paint sealant composition in the form of a tetrafluoroethylene monomer and an abrasive compound are applied to the painted surface. The surface is then buffed so that the buffing action inconjunction with the abrasive compound produces sufficient heat to polymerize the tetrafluoroethylene monomer, thereby creating a protective layer of polymer over the painted surface.

It has been found in practice that the utilization of the abrasive and buffing action requires substantial skill by the applicator, and that improper application of the composition results in damage to the paint or removal of the paint from the surface. Furthermore, a three-step process is involved, namely cleaning the surface, applying the tetrafluoroethylene monomer, and eventually applying a protective coating."

My Thoughts:

The Basecoat Paint on Mercedes is "THE" most important factor in Corrosion
Protection(Basecoat = Primer).
I ain't willing to risk the "Clearcoat" much less the "Colorcoat";You might as
well shoot me before asking me to defile the Basecoat.

'Little more work,BUT...

[I included the picture of their Scotchguard Marine Liquid Wax,'cause it's
so damn durable...I haven't asked them if it's applicable for auto use.In a
marine application you have to literally use a"Glass" to make sure the Boat's
absolutely clean...This stuff is a polymer that bonds to the surface and
will seal in any dirt you leave on the surface.]
