Fox & Friends

I probably shouldn't admit this, but I watch portions of the Fox & Friends show just about every day. Lately it has gotten really weird. Just about all they do is bash Obama and Biden. Every now and then they take time to bash MSNBC, but usually it's all about Obama/Biden. This morning they had that Florida newswoman who asked Biden whether Obama was a Marxist. They treated her like a hero. To them, the lady's questions weren't inane, they were "tough".

And that blond they have on the show these days - man, is she wound up tight.

I don't have much time in the morning for televised news, but I have seen Fox/friends. I think the format looks amaturish (sp). I suppose it is meant to appear like a bunch of likeminded friends around th coffee table, but it loses me.

What's the worst show on TV? My wife watches "The View" sometimes in the morning. God d*m that show is enough to make anyone throw-up! With freaking Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters... I feel like spewing just thinking about it.

The other crappy new show is Chelsea Lately. That creepy b!tch actually thinks she's funny? Show sucks and Chelsea Handler is scary nasty.

I am with you on that one. Joy Behar, or whatever her name is, is horrid. She spews left-wing cliches as if they were highly principled arguments. There are plenty of celebrities with their hearts in the right place, and they do a lot of good with raising money for good causes, but I wish they would just shut their pie holes every now and then.

Look at the adverts, and that will tell you everything you need to know about the people it's aimed at. Then, look at the people who actually watch it. See...

We don't call it the Comedy Channel for nut'in!

I think Garfield and Friends offers more insightful commentary.

When I want to hear the news, I never go to Fox & Friends. It has become a waste of time AFAIAC. In general, I'm sick of hearing about politics which seems to be the only thing Fox covers any more. I'm basically conservative but, there's more going on in the world than politics. I get most of my news off the internet and sometimes CNN Headline News. For financial news I still go to CNBC.

24HR Cable News . . . the vast wasteland of psuedo information.

It's not hard to figure it out. TV is 1) powerful; 2) expensive; and 3) still full of all the Marshall McLuhan "The Medium Is the Message" qualities. Shape a news organization that has to sell the news to it audience and what we've ended up with no surprise. Short attention spans need to be stimulated constantly, so we have "bites" and "briefs" but very little else . . all sizzle, no steak.

You find an audience and just give it what it wants, not necessarily what it needs.

Dan Rather proved that one should not trust what what learns exclusively from TV.

"What's the frequency, Kenneth?"

Even Bush won't cross the torture line far enough to make detainees watch that show.

For me of course, it's Elizabeth Hasselbeck. 1.2 seconds of her voice turns me homicidal.

Now be fair. Fox and Friends IS fair and balanced. They report ALL three forms of news: (1) Obama is Socialist who hangs out with terrorists, (2) Obama runs ACORN which does nothing but try to steal elections with fraudulent voter registrations, and (3) the polls are all flawed and mean nothing.

There is nothing else you need to know.

I used to get up early enough to catch the last 20 minutes of Fox and Friends while getting ready for work. I never did like it as much as the show that follows (note-Megyn Kelly is hot). It did seem amatuerish, as it's probably intended to. Now my work hours have changed and I get up a little later.
