I voted today! :)

I'll be working for a German television network from 8:00am on election day until whenever the whole thing ends. So I voted absentee and just put my ballot in the mail box. Very easy!!

Anyone else voting absentee and why?

I don't trust the absentee balloting system.

Hell, I don't trust the regular balloting system.

Oh well. I had left-over chicken curry for lunch.

I don't have a choice, BFE doesn't have a voting station.

Stefano, you know anything about Keurig machines? I got one and it makes wonderful coffee. I just wonder if I can keep it on 24/7.

sfloriII,

I looked into voting early in Loudoun County, but they would only let me vote for President. If I want to vote in the Senate and House races, or on the referenda, I have to vote live on election day.

So, I guess I will have to wait until next Tuesday to cancel out your vote.;)

Actually all three are on the ballot plus voting on allowing the state to borrow money to pay for an elementary and high school as well as a fire station. Also on the ballot is permission to charge a 4%tax on prepared drinks-- like booze and soda. It's confusing because when you apply for the ballot, you specify for the general election only, but all those other issues are on the ballot. Good luck!

Oh wait, I just noticed you're gonna cancel out my vote.... so I hope you get into a HUGE traffic jam. ;)

Sorry, I don't. I've got a traditional Pavoni but one of the gaskets is leaking and I haven't found a local repair shop. Haven't used it in over a year. :(

Why do people vote early?

I hear people pay taxes early too . . .

sfloriII 10-29-2008 05:49 AM

I work in television and am scheduled at NBC from 8:00am Tuesday Nov. 4 for 24 hours until 8:00am Wed Nov. 5. So it would be impossible for me to vote in person. But other people are sick or have various other reasons to have to vote early.

Botnst 10-29-2008 07:04 AM

200,000 people are scheduled to get sick in Louisiana on voting day.

I don't like the idea of early voting, but then my precinct doesn't seem to be too busy most times. I kind of like the "process"...it kind of make me feel patriotic. Not sure that absentee or early voting does that. It also kind of moves the "finish line" for the candidates.

I'll probably go today or sometime this week during the work day. I hate waiting in line for anything. I tried to go last Saturday and there were about 100 people in line so I went on about my business for the day...
