Isuzu truck question

i'm thinking of buying another rollback truck and there is a '95 isuzu 6 cyl turbo diesel w/ 315k for sale near me.
i've heard about the reliability of UD diesels and i'm wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge re: isuzu diesels.
thanks in advance!

As far as I've heard, Isuzu is fine. We had one at the place I used to work and it never broke down. They seem to be the industry standard for the LCF market.

GM's have Isuzu Diesels... Ever heard of Duramax?

FWIW, I have 92 Izusu motorhome with a 4 cyl diesel. To me, it is the best starting and smoothest diesel I have ever had. It will start almost immediately after sitting for six months. It always surpirses me how easy it starts.

It all depends on the care it has received. If cared for this is probably true. I have heard they are pretty good trucks.

First, some clarification is in order. UD, (ultimate dependability) is a Nissan product. Hino is a division of Toyota. I owned a Mitsubishi-Fuso when I had my tool rental business, and I have to say, once you have one of these, you won't buy another Ford. It had real brakes on it, a durable front end, and starts at 0 degrees F were effortless.

I recently rented a 2007 GMC 4500 cabover (Isuzu) with the 5.2litre 4 cylinder engine, and let me tell you, that is some nice running engine. Starting from cold (below freezing) is like you just shut it off- it doesn't even smell. If some manufacturer had the foresight to put that in a mid-sized pickup, that would be the cat's pajamas.

That sounds very optimistic to me. I get 15mpg with my 99 Fuso FG and it's a 4 cylinder 3.9L.

That's a great truck, I'm sure it'll serve you well. I've wanted one of these for a while to make a camper toter but that's WAY down on the list...

Nice truck! A friend on Pulaski rd. has 2 of them I let him keep at a rental that are beat to hell but otherwise well maintained mechanically and according to him they never give any trouble.I borrow one on occasion.
Mileage-wise he claims 14-16,less with all the stop and go in Huntington Station these days where he hauls junkers out of folk's yards and strips them, the junk cars that is,not the folks.

As regards your fiancee, how long has she been missing?
