Ever notice how many Mercedes are in Movies/ TV shows? - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

For the past couple nights the kids have been out of the house and my wife and I have watched a couple movies each night and I can not believe how many Mercedes are used in each movie. We watched Crash, Big Fish, Miami Vice, Gone in Sixty Seconds and National Tresure 2 Book of Secrets. I have found this site that has all the movies and and all the cars that are in them www.imcdb.org
Does anyone know anyother movies/tv shows that have a lot of Mercedes?

I like trivia about cars in movies.

The black S-Class that was blown up in "Michael Clayton" was the same one from "The Devil Wears Prada."

TV series "Dallas". "JR Ewing" always had a Mercedes S-Class from 1978-1985. I think from 1986+ he drove a Cadillac Allante'.

"Sue Ellen" had a 300 wagon from about 1981-83, then a S-Class coupe from 1984-88 when she left the show.
"Bobby" most always had a Mercedes SL convertible. Red w/chocolate interior.

If I recall, there were very few episodes where there was not a Mercedes. I recall one episode in the early 80s where "Sue Ellen" flipped JR's Mercedes. She pulled out in a brand new early 80s 380SEL W126, but the car that actually ended up crashing was a late W116, like a 79-80 SWB S-Class. Of course they were not going to crash a brand new Mercedes, but even a 79-80 S-Class was a super nice car in the early 80s.

I have always watched The Sopranos. Being Italian and all and there is usually an S500, SL600 and in one episode the mob steals a SL55 AMG to sell over in Italy. I found this on IMCDB.ORG I am now on that site all the time.

The W123 and W126 seem to be the most popular.

As to why, because they are nice cars.

Yes I have noticed that. Especially in movies set in Europe. Also there are W202 and W210 in a lot of 90's movies.

James Bond movies have a lot of nice Mercedes in them. In a lot of anime they drive Mercedes, Black Lagoon is nothing but. Death Note was full of big Lexus, and Blood+ had a strong W126 showing.

My daughter was just telling me about "Scary Movie" that there is a rapper buy who was a nice W220 S500.

I am sitting on the couch posting this, and watching Tomorrow Never Dies.

In the scene where they were in the car park, they had several W126s.

On a side note, I saw a crazy hot girl drivng a black W140 S500 today. I tried to get her attention. My kind of women, good taste in cars.

Its not a Mercedes, but the Transporter really showcased one of BMW's finest cars. I really think the new 7 is a step backwards from these cars. BMW had it perfect, than changed it simply for the sake of change.

Great memory on the SEC.

Looked great in Euro Dress.

And yes, the E38 7 series was one of the best looking cars ever.

One day, there will be a black E38 750iL in my stable.... With a mechanic.... And a blank check....

I actually like the look of the older 7 Series better then the new ones. Like the ones pictured above in the ransporter movie.
